Solar sands did a really interesting video on this topic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6O5S2Y4FhJ0 I can totally see the appeal of considering whether the kids you have will be happy and definitely more people should do that. But at its most extreme level of no-one having kids ever I think the argument breaks since no-one would feel good about going extinct, knowing that there will never be the happiness you experience in your own life in the lives of others in the future is pretty grim. But it's interesting to talk about this topic and I'm curious what real people's responses are to it.
