one of the translators posted on their instagram that they specifically fought for making sure that vivian could be trans so this seems less so nintendo's doing and more so people within Nintendo of America pushing for it
Yes, putting this line in the game will make it sell so many more copies than it would have otherwise. 🙄
It's depressing that the original one was changed in the first place -- our existence can't even be acknowledged in a video game without people collectively freaking out... Well, at least they fixed it now.
