Finally a sentence that makes some sense.

But, honestly, based on what DePape told police--that he was on "a suicide mission" and wanted to take Nancy Pelosi hostage, question her, and break her kneecaps if she lied--unless psychiatrists clear him in 30 yrs... he should remain in prison. There is no way society is safe with someone like that free.

I mean, just looking at him he’s in his 40s? Doesn’t federal time have very little time reduction for good behavior, so he’ll be close to 70? He may just die behind bars lol.

He also faces state charges in California, there’s very little chance he’ll get pardoned there.

Come on. 😵‍💫

He’ll probably be out on parole in 15 years or less.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 7 months ago

You do 85% of fed time before you can be paroled, at best

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago

he'll be pardoned when the orange buffoon gets in next election /s

[–] [email protected] 1 points 7 months ago

You're killing me. 😵‍💫

Federal sentences require at least 4/5 of the sentence to be served. So for 30 years, he’d be eligible in ~24 years. Unless the grand Cheeto gets elected again, and pardons him.

If Trump wins, this guy gets a pardon and a cabinet position

Keynote speaker position at CPAC convention

[–] [email protected] 6 points 7 months ago (1 children)

For some reason I misread that as the CPAP convention and now I am in a fit of giggles.

Meanwhile, Daniel Perry is pardoned. I fucking hate this universe.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 7 months ago

That's 40 Canadian years.

[–] LEDZeppelin 6 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Isn’t he a Canadian illegal immigrant? Why do I as a taxpayer have to foot the bill for his housing and meals?

[–] [email protected] 21 points 7 months ago

"Yeah, bro, you can just murder anyone you want in the US and all they do is buy you a plane ticket home! So fucking cool"

[–] CarbonatedPastaSauce 17 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Because he committed a crime in the country you pay taxes in?

Not sure what you're implying here. The US should only put US citizens in prison? The rest get a firing squad?

[–] Wrench 6 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Except the firing is out of a cannon pointed at Canada

[–] CarbonatedPastaSauce 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Good idea, let's put violent criminals with the knowledge and skill of how to get into and/or stay in our country illegally back in the place they did it from before. No chance they would ever do that again, right?

[–] Wrench 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Did you reply to the wrong comment?

[–] CarbonatedPastaSauce 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

No. I took your comment to mean "just deport them after they tried to murder somebody so we don't have to pay the bill to keep them in prison for their crime". If you really meant to load them into a cannon and kill them by firing their remains over the border, I don't know how to respond to that.

[–] Wrench 3 points 7 months ago

It was a joke...
