Kinda looks like a fat chihuahua.

I thought the same thing so I looked to see if there was any relation. Apparently they have a different number of chromosomes and can't cross breed with other canines.

Proportions are pretty close to potato variety chiweenies.

The bear at home:

I want to give it a hug and am sure it doesn't want one.

Kinda looks like it's about to pitch forward onto it's face.

Domestication has many unwanted side effects. The experiments with domesticated foxes had their ears no longer be pointy as time progressed.

I feel sorry for that hyena

Necessary in public, if a dog bites your leg you are missing a bite of meat, if a hyena bites your leg they amputate it cleanly. They have one of the greatest biteforce (1100 PSI)

Necessary in public if you insist on letting a hyena as a pet. I didn't think you should keep a hyena as a pet.

Depending where and how, as with any animal. How many birds in cages and how many dogs chained and all day alone in the house the whole day in our cities?

We can keep any animal as a pet (except protected species), as long as we can provide them with treatment appropriate to their nature. Unfortunately, in practice, especially with dogs and different species of birds, this is conspicuous by its absence in our cities. In other words, a dog, to stay physically and psychologically healthy, requires running a minimum of 10 km daily and must be continually accompanied, like the pack animal that it is. This is possible in the countryside and with working dogs, such as shepherds, but certainly not in a city, with the owner all day at work and upon returning for a walk around the block so that the dog can pee with his bladder about to burst. Maybe also an hour in the park at weekend. That is the panorama of 90% of the dogs in the city.
Same with a lot of other animals

Worst in Africa with Hyenas?I don't think so.
