To discuss how to grow and manage communities / magazines on Lemmy, Mbin, Piefed and Sublinks
Lol, it feels strange being invited here as someone not a mod or instance admin, and my original intent was to just lurk silently.
I do feel protective of this space now though, since participating so much more than I ever thought I would, and there are a few names in this thread I recognize for their contributions across Lemmy and I'm very thankful of the work you all have put in as well.
I'll make an effort to follow this community and share any helpful thoughts I have. I think we really have something good here, and I want to see it grow happily.

That's the whole idea, all the people here are regular posters. They might be mods or admins too, but that doesn't really matter. We are here to talk about how it feels to post regularly, and it's something that only a few people really experience.

Sorry buddy, I saw the callout, but don’t know exactly what you’re looking for here.
Hello, welcome here!
No worries, we just have a few discussions ongoing. For instance, for [email protected], do you think there is anything that could be done to bring more people to it? Are you happy with posting there regularly, or would you rather have more people? Do you find enough content and engagement in your posts?
Ill definitely say @[email protected] for being pretty much the entire basis for literally the entire Anime Community on lemmy!
Oh. Well this is an interesting community. I've been thinking that something like it should be around.
@[email protected] is another contributing powerhouse when it comes to anime content on this budding platform.
@[email protected] for their contributions to [email protected] and [email protected]
Just sharing the passion :)
Thank you so much for your persistent contributions and expertise! If you have any thoughts on dealing with shouting into the void, we'd love to hear them!
I've had times when I felt I was shouting in the dark on a number of different platforms over the years, but those community don't last long as they usually grow. The Mars communities here on Lemmy have grown nicely since I came over here from Reddit. I'm sort of paying it forward for all those that preceded me that gave me joy in the late 50's and 60's when I was young developing space nerd. I simply gather the data / images to satisfy my own curiosity. Sharing it with a few like minded souls, is only but a few clicks in this digital age :)
@[email protected] for their work on [email protected] , and the Lemmy promotion on Reddit!
Thanks, subscribed, and will keep on eye on this!
Happy to see you hear!

No it did. I'm just confused about what this community is.
Oh sorry, maybe it wasn't that obvious. It's mostly to discuss how to make the communities sustainable, and usually the regular posters are the ones that the main factor.
I wanted to ask you something very specific: do you think that [email protected] and [email protected] might merge at some point in the future? It seems like having two parallel communities is a bit confusing, as people might talk about the same things in two different places, and post the same content.
I know there were conflicts between the two moderating teams in the past, but I'm not sure that's still the case, especially now that thee communities are a bit less active than just after the API changes.
well, originally the [email protected] community was shut down since it moved to lemdro.id. the decision to "unmerge" was made by the LW admins and we have no animosity for that but we also don't have any plans for merging since we already tried that.
Hello,
Thank you for your feedback! I see, it kind of makes sense from a historical perspective, but I guess it's just confusing for people wanting to ask a question or posting an article seeing two communities which both seem active and with similar rules.
We're certainly not against merging again, but it'll need to be initiated by the mods of [email protected] with the blessing of the admins there (and I suspect the mods are not open to this). We've already given it our best shot!
