I honest to god think this is a defect of the English language. There should be a singular gender neutral pronoun.

There shouldn't be any gendered pronouns at all. Many languages do just fine without them.
That's true. It does feel a little strange to have to refer to someone's gender any time you want to refer to them in a sentence. Although conversely for both cis and trans folk alike it's gender affirming for them. It just comes down to language though. It probably seems 100% fine to have genderless pronouns in languages that don't have them.
I mean, we have "it" but that doesn't really work...
Lol yeah except that by very nature is dehumanizing (fun in certain situations hahahahaha average 196 bottom moment 🥺🥺🥺)
