Mildly Interesting

This is for strictly mildly interesting material. If it's too interesting, it doesn't belong. If it's not interesting, it doesn't belong.

This is obviously an objective criteria, so the mods are always right. Or maybe mildly right? Ahh.. what do we know?

Just post some stuff and don't spam.

If that doubled as a map of phone prefixes it would be so cool.

Yeah, missed opportunity that would have actually been useful at the time.

Didn't realize Letterkenny was a town in Ireland too

Yes! A lot of places in Ontario are named after places in Ireland, England, Scotland etc actually.

OK, now this is embarrassing. I also didn't realize the show Letterkenny was named for a town in Ontario. I thought it was a Broken Lizard or Kids in the Hall situation 🤦‍♂️

It's a great show! My favourite of all shows. It's based on the town of Listowel Ontario though.

I thought the bit in the north was a part of another country?

Interesting little ditty: At the time that phone was out, The Republic of Ireland held a constitutional claim on the whole island. Only with the peace process was it agreed to remove that claim.

It's calling it 'Derry' too so the phone is firmly taking a stance.

The official name is "Londonderry".
