i think that the reason they are doing it so openly is that the billionaires think that owning all the media will make people not realize what is happening. but i don't think they are as smart as they think they are, so we will have to wait and see how many people realize

not only does does the billionaire class expect infinite growth, they require infinite accelerating growth

I have seen this around multiple times. I really doubt that it is real. The whole working-for-tips system is messed up, thou, but the biggest I have ever seen recommended is 25%

i don't know if the man behind the curtain is supposed to be jesus or not, but it seems likely... which i find it strange, since jesus also opposed the arbitray rules used by religious leaders to control the population, and was just basically saying to treat each other well

well, if the founding fathers didn't want the president total power and act like a king, they should have named it something different than king and divide the power in multiples branches

i just can't think of any. like the article says, i fully expected the app to send data to china. but even if you are maliciously spying on users, why would you send the stolen data on unsecured channels? so that everyone in the path takes advantage of the data your wanted to steal?

well, the powerful man probably think that covering people's basic necessities wouldn't reduce crime. After all, they have those covered in spades, and yet steal billions of dollars each year

i don't know how xcom does it, but if you are reloading a save, it is possible that you are always using the same random number generator, so the results would not change

Map of Ava-Lodise (lemmy.world)
submitted 2 years ago by kinsnik to c/worldbuilding

Hi! This is the map for the island country of Ava-Lodise. It is a modern country, with similar levels of technology to our world. The largest cities are Avalí (the capital), Suhr, Senadi and Hirrea. There are several different ethnic groups in the country, from Avalonian (from Ava, the smaller island where Avalí is), East Lodisean (the east coast of the large island), Flahrian (south west of Lodise), Veeker (west of the desert) and Senmi (north of the desert).

I made it for a project that I am really proud of how it looks, but I can't share it here because for that one I used a lot of AI generated images: A Travel Guide to Ava-Lodise.

here is one example page of that project (i removed the AI-generated images):
