"Israel" really wants to dethrone nazi Germany as the most openly genocidal fascist state huh.

No wonder zionists and nazis have a history of cooperating. Might as well be the same thing.

Excuse me, the US is still the king of genocide.

[–] Zehzin 40 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (1 children)

Brits and Spaniards didn't kill like 50 million people for you to give the crown to an upstart

[–] [email protected] 6 points 8 months ago

That genocide isn't the only genocide the US has been part of, either as a direct genocidier or indirectly by supporting the genocidal regime.

No one is gonna take this crown from the US!

They try to not be open about it though, at least to its own population, unlike "israel".

It's basically a US colony in Palestine though so ig it's a moot point.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (1 children)

No, not really. There's a lot of whitewashing of US history, especially in textbooks. If you ask the average American they wouldn't even call anything the US did "genocide."

I recommend reading Lies My Teacher Told Me.

There’s a lot of whitewashing of US history, especially in textbooks. If you ask the average American they wouldn’t even call anything the US did “genocide.”

That's what I mean. The US is built on genocide and colonization just like "israel", but they try to not be open about it.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 8 months ago

Oh no that's new. Back when the genocide was in a more active phase and there were "Indian Wars" they were very explicit about it.

But today, you're right, they just teach a few key atrocities and handwave the other hundred million. I must have misread lol

I think that's just the different stages of settler-colonial development.

Gonna throw a hat in the ring here for the British Empire as the king of genocide.

Fascism is fucking horrifying. Fuck the IDF and fuck Netanyahu.

[–] [email protected] 33 points 8 months ago

And fuck Biden and the American project. Israel would be nothing without them.

WTF?! What's in the mind of those IDF soldiers? "oh look, thousands of hamas troops conveniently standing around in open space waiting to be shot"?

[–] [email protected] 105 points 8 months ago (3 children)

They don't really believe they're shooting at Hamas. They believe they're shooting at subhuman animals. This is the genocidal mindset.

[–] cogman 63 points 8 months ago (4 children)

There's a Twitter link here from the IDF. The comments show exactly what they are thinking "these are ants, look how funny it is that we killed 100 of them".

Literally people cheering for a military shooting at starving people. Christ this is what Nazis look like.

How long before Israel starts ironically selling arab skinned lamps?

[–] [email protected] 48 points 8 months ago

Christ this is what Nazis look like.

That's the thing; they are basically nazis. Zionists have the same goal as nazis of getting Jews out of Europe and weaponizing and exacerbating antisemitism for an imperialist agenda (here, that's colonialism and the destabilization of the middle-east).

It's a fascist colony built on the continued genocide and ethnic cleansing of the native Palestinians. It's inevitable that what you get is a similarly fascist population not unlike that of nazi Germany. Specially with half of the colony's population being military conscripts who directly carry out the genocide.

[–] sarcasticsunrise 15 points 8 months ago

The amount of "comedic" TikToks I've seen taken by IDF scum gloating and dancing over the murder of innocent Palestinians is sickening. Filth like this is the very definition of evil. Boycott Divest Sanction of Israel now, in no particular order

They know what they are doing. They want the land, but first they need to kill all of the people living there.

This is not coincidence. This is policy.

No they are thinking, "these none humans are in the way. Preventing me from owning beach front property. So killing them like vermin is the nice thing to do."

[–] [email protected] 63 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (2 children)

Slightly misleading title: Preliminary estimates range from 80-200 dead, uncounted hundreds wounded.

Fuck israel.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 8 months ago (3 children)

I'm assuming they counted the people wounded.

[–] snek 39 points 8 months ago

The latest count on Al-Jazeera was 109 with over 800 wounded, and reports of 40 bodies bulldozed away that no one can reach. They did shoot at a crowd of thousands.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 8 months ago

No. Many are still unaccounted for.

[–] bhmnscmm 10 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (1 children)

No. The article says the number wounded is likely in the hundreds. The headline is exaggerating a tragic event.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Let's not split hairs between dead or wounded. Getting wounded while starving and no hospitals functioning and everyone around you has dysentery dooms someone to a very slow, very painful death.

[–] bhmnscmm 13 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

I'm not splitting hairs over dead vs wounded.

The headline says thousands were gunned down (dead and wounded: total casualties), but the article says combined dead and wounded are in the hundreds.

I'm "splitting hairs" over the headline exaggerating an already horrific event by an order of magnitude.

[–] SuckMyWang 7 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Ok. Why lie? Those numbers are fucked enough. Now I feel mislead

In any normal universe, thousands of innocent people being massacred on a single day would be bigger than 9/11. Yet aside from this post on lemmy, I've heard nothing of it. WTF is going on!?

[–] [email protected] 19 points 8 months ago

don't you know? they're brown, so it clearly doesn't matter

[–] [email protected] 12 points 8 months ago

It doesn't strategically affect the 3 major powers. And also you probably need to tweak your news sources if none of them are telling you about this.

Remember like a couple of weeks back, when the UN said that Israel had shot at their aid convoy from the sea.

Or the Israelis sitting at the border crossing preventing humanitarian aid being delivered and Israel doing very little about it. All because the suffering of 100 is more important than the suffering of millions. What kind of twisted moral one should have to believe this.

Or Israelian authorities (COGAT) withholding tent poles and delivering the so needed tents without poles, because you know tent poles are very deadly weapons.

And Israel can alleviate the suffering of all Palestinians if they want, just that they don't want, they want for Palestinians to suffer to learn their place. They are acting as a bully while screaming I am the victim in front of the rest of the world.

“Are we the what??? I can’t hear you over the sound of me shooting into a crowd of innocent children with an assault rifle, you are going to have to hold on a sec until I finish then tell me”

[–] [email protected] 13 points 8 months ago (1 children)

If it were just an "Assault Rife," like an M16 or Uzi or something, then the casualties wouldn't be nearly as high. But according to the article it was a heavy machine gun, like one of these:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M240_machine_gun

Which is something that is only depicted in Hollywood films when they want to really drive home the war-crime "bad guy" aspect by having the Nazi's fire into a crowd.

[–] dumpsterlid 19 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (2 children)

Yes, but you know the cruelest thing isn’t the bullets, the bombs or the artillery. It is setting up a population of over a million purposefully in an impossible situation with nowhere to go, no access to hospitals (because you specifically destroyed them one by one), and no access to electricity, clean water or food.

Imagine having a fish tank full of cool little fish and just deciding you didn’t want it anymore so you unplugged the lights and oxygenator and stuck the aquarium outside your window in the cold. Then you pulled up a comfy chair next to the window and just sat and watched as the fish slowly starved, suffocated and froze to death. This is what Israel is doing to Gaza, except Gaza is full of human beings not fish.

Actually maybe I am being unfair, in this metaphor the IDF would probably put a post it note on the fish tank that said “EVACUATE AREA” which if you think about it really gives the fish the choice to stay or leave.

It's basically Warsaw ghetto, but bigger and with 5 times more people inside.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 8 months ago (1 children)

jerk off while this happens

Not really. "Israel" is only able to do this because it has the full support of the US empire. They know they can get away with anything so long as the most war-mongering nation on the planet is with them.
