I’d like to propose a change from Defense Force to Occupation Forces.

Defense force that engages in committing genocide, where have I heard that before.

They could rebrand to some sort of ᛋealous ᛋionist Protection Squadron.

The parallels are so ridiculous you'd almost think they made it on purpose.

I mean, by this point regardless of your view on justification and conduct of both sides they are well enough in that no one could really dispute this part.

The connotation of what an occupation force does could be debated however.

I thought peace keepers were a cheesy name in hunger games but evidently not

the army said that it had "identified a number of terrorists armed with anti-tank missiles" approaching troops in Shejaiyya, and called in a helicopter strike on them.

It also said fighter jets had been striking terror targets in the Gaza Strip, as ground operations continued.

The area of Zeitoun, where the family house once stood, is now the focus of fresh operations by the IDF.

Everything is Hamas.

I mean they are terror targets alright, targets of terror bombings.

Don't misinterpret this as a slight to the main topic, but I am unable to imagine 110 people living together in one house.

The four-storey building where the family was killed sat around the corner from the Sahaba Medical Centre in Gaza City's Zeitoun neighbourhood.

~25 people a floor.

Consider that Gaza is one of most overcrowded areas in the world.

@Infiltrated_ad8271 Gaza has a huge housing shortage as they lose more and more of their land and houses to "settlers" each year. They also have a lot of diffuculty getting building materials because of the blockades.

If you read this article about housing it talks about a guy building his house on the second story of a family member's house.

And the photos are basically showing us low rise apartment blocks. So by 'house' I think it means a small apartment block.

IDF bombed 4 of them too so maybe some of the extended family were in those.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 9 months ago

There haven't been any settlers in Gaza since 2005, what are you talking about? You mean the West Bank?

[–] WhiteHawk 2 points 9 months ago (2 children)

How do you even remember all their names??

[–] Maalus 8 points 9 months ago

You call em "brother" and it solves all of those issues

Just take them all to Sam Malone's bar.

[–] xc2215x 14 points 9 months ago

That is terrible to see for him.

[–] urandom 12 points 9 months ago (1 children)

This guy wasn’t a terrorist before, but he’s likely to become one after such a thing. And IDF should be the only ones to blame for whatever he decides to do.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 9 months ago

Hamas was created by Israel, and shit like this is how they did it. I lay the blame for every terrible thing Hamas has done directly at the feet of the IDF.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

When 103 relatives were killed in a strike on their family home in Gaza City, he was stuck 50 miles (80km) away, in the occupied West Bank town of Jericho.

Unable to hold his children's bodies or be at their hurried burials, he still speaks of them in the present tense, his face motionless beneath the rolling tears.

It is now a mound of splintered concrete, the rubble shot through with bright dots of colour: a green plastic cup, shreds of dusty clothing.

In response, the army said it was not aware of the strike in question, and that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) took "feasible precautions to mitigate civilian harm" in its war with Hamas.

There was intense fighting between Israeli forces and Hamas gunmen in the area of Shejaiyya, a few blocks south of the al-Ghuferi house, in the days immediately before and after Ahmad's family were killed.

In a daily update on 9 December, the army said that it had "identified a number of terrorists armed with anti-tank missiles" approaching troops in Shejaiyya, and called in a helicopter strike on them.

The original article contains 1,024 words, the summary contains 184 words. Saved 82%. I'm a bot and I'm open source!
