Ark Survival Evolved. 7k hours, love the game, wouldn’t recommend because Wildcard/Snail Games.

Same here, feel like half of the time I was debugging the game or rescuing peoples stuff from bugs. I know we all want sandbox dinosaur island but ark ain't it

I remember we needed a mod for the building system because the default one was genuinely broken, among other things.

But are you still playing it?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

I am. I switched to Ascended for a while but want to continue my no-engrams* ASE play through. It’s challenging but fun.

As an ex-Eve player I could 100% see this being correct

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

Hadn't played in a long time, thought I'd pop in to see what had changed. Noped the fuck outta that game fast.

Counter-Strike 2

Rainbow 6: Siege. In the last 2 days I got berated and called slurs for not playing how one of my teammates wanted me to in two separate matches, played against 2 different people using obvious aimbots/wallhacks, and got dunked on by people who had pixel-perfect knowledge of a map that I never get to play on because everyone bans it.

I still love the game to death but I really cannot stand some of the community. The recent commendation system has helped more positive people be more vocal in the game thankfully.

35,000 hours is about 1,458 days, or almost 4 years....

I have an mmo addict friend who just leaves the games in menu all day long. He's also always green in discord, but rarely answers.

I think it's a very cool game, especially if you play it with friends. Of course, you have to like this type of gameplay where you always have the exact same objective.

However, if you only play solo queue survivor I have to agree with you. Your mates will always fail you and give up on the first hook.

Dead By Daylight.

But God, if I can't stop playing...

It's fun in the beginning, but starts to get very repetitive very fast.

Honestly, once I saw what the play loop was near the end of the tutorial, I nope-d right out of there. For perspective, I was grinding away at asteroid mining for two whole weeks before I stopped playing EvE. To me, that's how transparently "endless grind without any substance" the game came off.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Oh boy, can't wait to check out that new content... Oh patches made my build useless. Guess I'm grinding a new Warframe weapon combo on Helene. Then it's off to the marketplace to get the new mods I need, then I need to grind the currency to level those mods up, and then I burn out and uninstall again.

any game without an obtainable goal, just like IRL.

[–] Cicraft 3 points 1 year ago

That's hoi4 for me, though I still manage to get back to it

Wdym warframe is great

[–] Brocon 3 points 1 year ago

It's a hate/love thing. The worst best f2p.

You can play for free and get every game relevant content and weapon. But you have to grind really hard if you don't want to use a booster.

You can see beautiful vistas and planets and tech palaces and and and. But most other players just rush through the level to get it over with.

There are so many weapons and frames. But there are sooo many weapons and frames.

I have some other gripes. But these are some of the ones I heard often.

Oh god i figured it out

It's so stupid to vote it down after so many hours of entertainment lol. Just because it can't keep your attention forever

[–] Schmeckinger 6 points 1 year ago

I have a game like this. The down vote is from them making the game worse with a patch.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

There's this thing called playing a game not for entertainment, there's games that are addictive and games that will have you spend hours just to get a little taste of goodness to keep you going.

I'm happy for you you haven't wanted to enjoy a game that is like this, and that you don't think about leaving criticism where it is due.

[–] Evotech 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

I've definitely played my share of games for thousands of hours including MMOs, But just because I'm tired of the game loop and it doesn't interest me anymore I'm not going to leave a bagy review.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

I see you chose not to read what I said? Being tired of the game loop is almost never the reason of these "bagy" reviews.

[–] Gumus 1 points 1 year ago

Let me tell you about Clicker Heroes. I've posted a negative review with 1200 hours in game and it took me 200 more to finally get rid of it and uninstall.

I'm so very glad it couldn't hold my attention forever.
