The Irregular at Magic High might be what you're looking for. Anime/Manga about a world where magic is treated like a science, where they program the properties of spells into their casting medium by using 'unary code' which is programming with all zeros instead of binary, which is 1s & 0s. Somehow.
Like they're using repeating explosion spells to launch rockets for NASA. The main character wants to be a magi-engineer and develop tools/spells for the military. Secretly from his classmates of course. He's got an overly affectionate relationship with his sister cause anime/Manga, but also she's technically more powerful than him, he's just good with magi-tech.
The idea of using only 0s is kinda amusing. Thanks for the recommendation!
It's even better when you realize they use full-size keyboards where each key is just another zero!
