I don't understand the joke.
Presumably, they're the only parents she's ever had.
I tell my kids all the time whenever I say something they don't like that I'm the meanest Dad they'll ever have....
It’s the same joke as when I tell my sister that she’s my favourite sibling, she’s also my only sibling and consequently my least favourite sibling too.
Gotta love the well-ordering principle!
I think the daughter only had them as parents, hence they are aautomatically the best parent she had? I am a bit confused as well.
It's like when I tell my son he's my favourite child. He's my only child.
and he replies back "well, you're my least favorite dad."
Second favorite. It's more positive than least favorite. Dad jokes aren't negative.
The best joke in all of 30 Rock is when Tracy is complaining that his kids don't respect him, and shows Liz the mug they got him reading "#4 DAD".

My mom told my brother he's her favorite son (he's her only son) and I'm her second favorite daughter (I'm her only daughter). We were confused and my mom said we have a secret older sister. We're pretty sure she is joking but what if????
So the surgeon was the mother?
