The snoop thing is what I really don't get. Was he always a terrible person or is this a new thing?

[–] FlexibleToast 28 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He's a massive sellout. He endorses more things than any other celebrity. He might just be doing it for the paycheck. It's hard to know.

I believe Shaq still holds the title for most endorsements, but Snoop is catching up quickly.

Pretty much standard gangsta youth, couple of suspected/hearsay murders, pimpin' drugs'n bitches etc. Survived till old age and retired. Nowadays smokes a lot of weed and goes around the world having the time of his life doing random weeb shit.

Is he a terrible person? Maybe. Does he give a fuck? Maybe not.

[–] jaybone 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Did he actually do half of that gangsta shit? Other than smoking weed constantly and partying, I doubt he was out actually pimping hoes and doing that kind of shit.

Far as I know, there's no evidence that he did. Either he was very good at cleaning up after himself or it was just street rep.

He's no Pee Diddy and might never end up as such, but who knows if this Trump business ends up finding skeletons, real or imaginary. Also, fame and personas are easily manufactured and just as easily dismantled, if there's an interest to do so.

He’s no Pee Diddy

Its so funny how the bar for celebrity is now "Didn't spend the last decade hosting an All-You-Can-Rape-Buffet so he's one of the good ones."

[–] lath 1 points 1 day ago

I'd could say there are enough bad or worse examples out there to influence where the bar rests.

Or that there should be a middle ground between good and bad one has to pass through in order to reach the other side.

But the bar changes its location for each person, with different gradients of intensity changing based on experience and personal bias.

As the Chernobyl meme goes, "not good, but not terrible" is also an acceptable measurement.

Snoop likes money and fame, it's not too hard to figure out?

[–] db2 4 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Why would he be preforming for someone who literally hates the skin he's in? I get Kanye, he's insane. I always got the impression snoop wasn't an idiot though, until now.

[–] Benjaben 3 points 1 day ago

Because it's not about principles or ethics or beliefs or anything more than money and fame. And I don't know how that makes him an idiot, it just makes him shallow, greedy, and empty.

He's got the literal same exact people who used to clutch their pearls and say his music should be banned, that he should be imprisoned - those people are now like "look at that quirky Snoop guy! At the Olympics, that's so funny, never saw that coming! Oh, oh! I recognized some of those slang words he said, I'm still with it, this Snoop guy isn't so bad, he's making jokes and stuff! I think he's cool!"

Who's the idiot?

[–] UnderpantsWeevil 1 points 1 day ago

Why would he be preforming for someone who literally hates the skin he’s in?

Trump doesn't hate black people. He hates poor people.

[–] BonesOfTheMoon 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I don't know! He always seemed pretty cool to me, I don't know a lot about him but that was my impression. And the Village People! The gayest song in the world you could say, and they're going to perform?

[–] ninjabard 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The Village People, as far as I know, it's only the last original member. And he sued the newer members for using the name. They now go by Disco Boys or something like that. He's the one who claims YMCA isn't a gay anthem.

[–] BonesOfTheMoon 1 points 1 day ago

Oh I see. Strange.
