Broke: Suffering from imposter syndrome because you know just enough to get invited through the door but not enough to feel competent in your role.
Woke: Recognizing that your information will always be imperfect and you're growing into your role just like your predecessors did. Trying to meet the expectations of your peers through personal development and effort.
Bespoke: You're a super-spy double agent who has fooled them all! Now you're going to bring this entire organization down from the inside through the most insidious forms of sabotage.
I'm in theory a senior engineer by title, but constantly reminded that holy fuck some other people I work with are so damn much smarter than me on this topic we're discussing right now and I feel like I just entered IT with zero experience.
But somehow those people listen to what I say and keep working with me so I guess I'm doing something right.
On that note, it's so fucking cool to work with actually smart people - it's like every time you're left in awe and hope you'd some day have a small percentage of their brain to use.
Yeah, that can be tough.
I have simply come to terms by now that I sometimes am the rubber ducky depending on the colleague ¯\(ツ)/¯.
