Not only will you die, but so will your entire family and your pets.

This is so you are incentivised to stay alive.

Rules:

You cannot refuse this, refusal is also instant death, along with everyone mentioned above.
You have absolute authority over the entire world.
Every person has a non-removable brain implant that allows them to vote "Approve", "Disapprove", or "Abstain from vote". These are completely immune to hacking.
Every above age 18 can vote.
You must maintain 50% + 1 vote of "Approve", exactly 50% Approve / 50% Disapprove still means death for you. "Abstain" is not a vote means it isn't counted.
The effects don't apply until at least 50% of the population has voted. If you get more 51% disapproval, you'll still live as long as theres less than 50% of the votes submitted.
If someone dies before voting, their vote automatically becomes "Disapprove" (So you don't get any ideas of committing genocides)
Once a vote is submitted, it stays valid even if the person died. A person could also make their implant automatically change vote if they die. So someone could have their vote be set at "Approve" but becomes "Disapprove" upon death.

I fear the transitional period implied by some of these changes will be what gets you. You have unlimited authority; you can't just snap your fingers like a genie, you'll need to implement these policies. These things take time, and they'll cause chaos and uncertainty, followed by confusion as people adjust. If you're not careful with your rollout, you risk waves of disapproval.

You raise a good point. I would fill that time with making worldwide broadcast at least on the weekly like a fireside chat where I would talk to people and field questions from a twitch interface and do my best to alleviate the worries and fears and to take in the concerns of the people just like you who are afraid that I will cause more harm than good and that way I can get the feedback that I would need to be the best possible lifelong emperor of the planet.

I would also remind everyone that I didn't choose this it was thrust upon me and so I want to work with everyone to make the world as good as it possibly can be.

And this also raises another point, I would make it so that news is not protected free speech unless it reports on the facts as best as it knows them.

The minute you start throwing opinion pieces up and calling it "news" with the underscore objective to be to get as many viewers as possible so that you can maximize your advertising revenue then you would become liable for slander and other possible negative consequences to your actions.

Probably not execution though, lol.

Maybe more like being decertified as a "news" organization and not being allowed to broadcast for a period of time.

I would also use my authority to make ads on the internet illegal, and probably set up an international shopping mart where companies can hawk their wares without manipulative algorithms attempting to coerce people into buying things they don't want.

More like an international Bazaar.
