It's starting to feel like these big publications are operating as closed source online forums that they pay people to post too.
It really is getting harder to find quality fact-based reporting. I rely on sources like Allsides and Straight Arrow News but even then it’s still just rehashing (course correcting) the flavor of the day reporting.
I'm not put off to different outlets publishing their own take on things, as long as it's objective and keeps it's opinion tapered. The biggest issue I see is that too many outlets report their writers' opinions as facts, and that's how we end up in this misinformation mess we're in.
Only site that I have really been liking of late is https://www.404media.co/. Arstechinca even feels not as good as it used to but not sure if that’s me or not
Y’know! I’ve liked their articles but I’m put off by their membership model and pricing.
Ars ropes me in pretty often. It has more good content than not. The Atlantic has snuck its way into my reading lists - though it’s pretty heavily opinionated more often than not.
Try associated press, that's where most of these others get their stories from anyway
