I don’t think you’re being unreasonable and in truth I share your concerns. Forks are doing a good job at refining the experience but should the Firefox project collapse, I doubt any fork can meaningfully continue the development needed for such a huge and complex project without the full-time and experienced development team who have been working on the project for an incredibly long time.

I wish Mozilla could figure out a more powerful way to generate revenue that doesn’t require advertising in any form.

I wonder if a yearly fundraising drive like Wikipedia could help. They generated $250Mil+ last time they did.

I’m kind of worried about the knee jerk reactions from people that haven’t read the full communications from Mozilla or looked into their approaches to anonymise data (which they’ve done for years as part of analyzing new feature tests).

Building an application as complex as Firefox requires full-time developers. It’s similar in scale to the Linux Kernel.

To keep building a competitive browser and continue to challenge the ubiquity of Chromium, Firefox needs to exist. Mozilla need to figure out how to make money (their previous attempts at additional services like VPN etc didn’t have much impact). If Google pull the rug from under them regarding their payments to be the default search engine, Mozilla could swiftly fall under.

Advertising, done in a privacy preserving way which they’ve an awful lot of experience at doing, in the near term gives them additional revenue streams to keep the ship afloat.

If we lose Firefox, Google owns the internet. We need to keep talking with Mozilla, not abandon them.

The problem is I don’t think the userbase does. Since the community was created, content was downvoted and negative conversations took place within it.

The TOS clearly states “Lemmy.World specifically forbids any sort of discrimination against queer groups on this site” yet Conservative political policy does appear to be discriminating against queer groups thus a Conservative community is, per TOS, not allowed to discuss and support their own party’s policies.

I agree with you in sentiment, SatansMaggotyCumFart, that this instance should be accepting and welcoming of political discussion with those of opposing views.

That said, current opposing views go strongly against the views upon which this instance was founded.

For that reason, and it seems clear the userbase also agrees, I believe it would be in the interest of this instance to repurpose this community into one where Conservatism can be discussed through the perspective of the userbase we have. And that seems to be memes that critique conservatism.

Apple Maps already shows weather conditions, temperature, and air quality in the bottom right when using the app (might need to check Settings as I don’t know if it’s in by default).

But while driving / with a destination set, the interface is far more minimal to avoid distractions.

You can always say “Hey Siri, what’s the weather like in Cummertrees?” or wherever you’re going.

Yeah an ex Virtuos developer said they had been working on a remake in UE5 for Bethesda. Can’t find the reference but it was a big rumour a while ago.

They need to. Strong rumours that Bethesda has tasked a studio to remake Oblivion in a different engine.

Looks awful on Voyager.

It’s great against Guardian stuff and fun if you’re with a friend and as one of you can drive while the other shoots. The Scorpion can also do pretty decent damage to ships.

However the Scorpion doesn’t have a Wave Scanner meaning it’s pretty useless for exploring or looking for resources on planets.

In short: Scorpion for combat, Scarab for everything else.

Limestone (thick bastard haha) but the inside is still stud walls, plaster board, etc. Quarry is nearby so it was practically a steal.

My house is made of limestone and is only a few years old…

How do you connect the DualShock to the potato? Mine doesn’t seem to have Bluetooth but… Greensprout?

Isn’t this just a historic note. Dark Souls came out years ago.
