Why is it strange? It's poverty driven shoplifting at face value. It's not that hard to move that stuff in public housing or a trailer park. Probably not even a lot of organization to it.

Possibly acute or untreated mental illness.

Poor people shit. I've been pretty poor.

Damn, mayo and shampoo aren't really a great luxury. Wonder if she's her own fence? That's poor people shit. Don't know much about New Zealand social problems.

Nifty. Just deleted mine.

My guess is that bacteria down in the crust near thermal vents would live the longest. Thousnands of years if they are able to follow the heat down.

Figure bunkered people might make it a few months depending on their power source and ability to withstand dropping pressure. Not sure how long it would take for the atmosphere to freeze. Government bunker that is vacuum proof with a reactor might make it a decade.

Just point me to the Natalie Portman and hot grits.

I'm down for whipping church sanctioned conmen and maybe even cursing some figs.

Okay, but where is the instance that is trying to model itself after slashdot? (I feel old)

I was taught it was about states rights including succession in public school. Was also told that evolution was a theory and that evolution wouldn't be covered, creationism was mentioned.

Last visit with my father, he was talking about dowsing for his neighbor's new pond. I grew up thinking it was real as well and was taught how. Forked stick from a green tree.

I have watched Chinese tool steel and heat treat ability improve massively over my career. The steel went from chineseium to the cheap usable option in a shop.

Tool and alloy steels are a basic measure of a country's industrial ability. That genie isn't going back in the bottle.

The gutting of US manufacturing and unions has been a crime against blue collar folks that most don't understand. Few new machinists stuck through the recession of the aughts. There are few machinists in my age bracket. There is no magic switch to rebuild manufacturing in the USA. It takes years to create competent machinists and we don't have enough competent machinists to do the training. The apprenticeship programs have mostly been eliminated, the guys that taught me had journeyman's papers but those programs were gone by the time I came up.

I've been lucky enough to grow three machinists, green to competent, in my career. Had to fight with management/corporate to do that much. I know of one that has already left the trade.

Relavant portion, translated, from the article:

The case of Hector Luis Valdes Cocho: From activist to ICE detainee

Hector Luis Valdés Cocho, known for his political activism and criticism of the Cuban regime , faces a complicated legal situation in the United States. He is currently in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at the Broward Transition Center in Florida.

Valdés Cocho gained notoriety as an independent journalist, exposing abuses in Cuba. However, in recent months, he has been the target of accusations of alleged financial fraud, which has generated discontent among his followers and affected his credibility. Several people have publicly accused him of questionable practices, including financial deception.

Specific details about the charges he faces have not been released, but his presence at the Broward Transitional Center in ICE custody suggests he could be deported to the island.

Just found someone on Lemmy who's building a tracker. Haven't looked at it closely, yet.

Edit. Also, there is a Lemmy comm:

I started with Surfcam then MasterCAM, done some TEBIS, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, Eagle, Solidworks, and probably some others. I've even used inkscape and GIMP to cleanup and convert images into models for measurements and reverse engineering.

I have never had the trouble I have with FreeCAD. Have seen others complain about it as well.

Sixteen hunts over three weeks to take her. She was so wiley. Grey squirrel, eyes are dark red with white around edges. She stayed in heavy briars and would run out of trees without lingering. Taken freehand at 35 yards with scope at 7x, .22lr, through a hole in Trifoliate Orange briars. Public land.

Scared to death a hawk would get her.

I've never hunted harder.

Edit: Dang. Albino squirrels have short lives, hawks take them out and they don't live past the first year. This squirrel lived in an island of trees in a field and is likely albino due to inbreeding. The genes are in no way advantageous and are only rare due to the extreme predation they cause.

I regularly eat fish and game that I kill myself. This is the only trophy I've ever taken. Unless you're a vegetarian, I doubt you have the same respect for animals that I do. I've worked in factory farms and understand, at a shit on boots and pants level, the horror involved with most meat that is eaten. Do you?

I hurt. I hurt all the the fucking time. My belly hurts. I'm reducing my drinking but it really sucks. The withdrawals suck real bad.

Lost my colon to U.C. Have a bag on my belly.

I have to move my family out of the south. I have to be physically able to do it. We have to get out.

If I get them out maybe I they'll be able to live happy.

I just want to die. I want the pain to stop. I don't let my people know. They can't do it without me.

I'm tired. I hurt all the time. I'm tired of hurting. I could turn it off, but I don't for now. I'm tired of the pain. I love them and they need me. I just want to make sure they're in a good place, away from here. Then I can finish it.

Rumor says the event is back on. Fire department and police overruled on capacity issues. One brave soul said he'd show up in bad drag suggestively eating bananas at attendees/bootlickers.

Circuit is for controlling the fan on a Raspberry Pi, just on/off according to temp, no PWM. Not sure about the diode as it has a .7V drop and it's a tiny brushless DC motor. No markings on the fan so I measured the current with a multimeter when hooking it up to a USB charger. Circuit was adapted from here using what I have on hand.

Suggestions? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

*EDIT: Confirmed, this circuit works on a Raspberry Pi 4. Base was wired to GPIO 17 and manually tested using commands:

raspi-gpio set 17 op dh

raspi-gpio set 17 op dl

I didn't use a breadboard, just hack-n-slash with the wires coming out of the fan, the leads on the thru hole components, a jumper connected to gpio 17 as a socket for the base/resistor lead, and heat shrink tubing for insulation. Folded it up as I closed the housing. Case combo including heatsinks and fan here.

A good friend's q-lite mother and sister are apparently raving about this movie. Stars Jim 'Jeebus' Caviezel, who is going to Q cons and talking about adrenochrome and such. In theaters now.

It's, supposedly, a true story about Tim Ballard, who runs something called O.U.R. Operation Underground Railroad. Tim Ballard is a Q. I don't closely track Q mythology, but it sounds like the standard child sex trafficking and adrenochrome torture stuff.

Here's a Rolling Stone article about it.

Anyone got the scoop on this thing?

Ever wonder about the meaning of a bumper sticker on the tailgate of some redneck's male enhancement device?^*^ This is a useful reference to look it up. A local tattoo parlor posted some neo-nazi ink a while back and it came in real handy.

^*^ as a redneck, I'm allowed to judge the fuck out of them

Can we please allow anecdotal posts? I.E. three more houses on my road have added blue porch lights in the last couple of months.

Also, venting and support requests for those dealing with the pod people?

I wish I had snapped a pic of the orange Charger with oath keeper and punisher crap all over it I saw at the liquor store last weekend. It would have made a good post as well.

This trend particularly concerns me because it's so easy and appears in the Turner Diary. I figured it's likely to become more frequent as we approach the next election.
