This image is frighteningly accurate. The IT guy at my current job is top left. The IT guy at my last job was top right. My friend from my discord server who works in IT has said for years that everyone who works in IT is either a neckbeard, a femboy, or a furry. He's a furry.

He actually made several attempts at running for president before 2016, all of them ended in failure with 0 delegates because nobody took him seriously as an independent. At some point in time, either he or his political strategists must have figured out that running as an independent is doomed because you must convince people to vote in a way that they are not accustomed to, whereas if you win one of the two mainstream party nominations you automatically get party hardliners for free, no matter how bad of a candidate you are.

It didn't matter that Trump as he was in 2015 had nothing in common with either Democrats or Republicans at the time, he just picked the party that was most likely to fall into lockstep around him, and the Republican party was primed for a newcomer after two Obama defeats in a row. All it took was for him to make a serious run as a Republican and humiliate his competition out of the race, and suddenly the Republican party begins to warp their values and philosophy around him instead.

He only likes politics because it's a springboard to get him in front of a camera. Running and losing means he got to have his fun and spend some of his money saying outrageous things and having the media talk about him non stop leading up to the election. Winning just means 4 years of the media being mandated to hang on his every stupid word for all his press conferences and such. It's exhausting once you realize how simple his angle is and how society is hardwired to feed into his narcissistic tendencies with a nonstop media circus that only makes him stronger every time they report on him.

I know I bought my last couple of wallets from the same place, usually because I walk past the wallet display stand, see a new one that I fancy, and decide on a whim to buy it. I get good mileage out of them, and they are generally inexpensive so even if I trade in every few years, it's still nice to have a fresh wallet every now and again. I occasionally swap between bifold and trifold as well. One thing I know is I can't do the minimalist design ones, I have too much shit in my wallet that I need just often enough to warrant carrying them around all the time (lest I forget them when I actually need them) but the desire to have the slimmest and most compact shape is definitely strong too. The two forces battle each other in my mind, and I usually settle for larger size in the end for convenience rather than comfort.

I'm not sure if I've ever received a wallet as a gift before. Maybe when i was a kid, and it would have been one of those nylon ones with the zippers for pocket change and the velcro for the money section.

I think my next wallet is going to be a really fancy one. Only thing I'm hesitating on in regard to that is I think cheaper wallet brands actually have the pulse of the everyman when it comes to design, whereas the fancier leather ones are somewhat impractical with fewer card slots, or very tight tolerances for sliding cards or money in them. I have to find just the right one, but I'm in no rush to replace my current wallet.

There was an occasional reddit repost that I remember seeing a few times about a guy who invented a "suicide helmet" specifically to avoid the prospect of botching his own planned attempt. It basically was a bunch of shotgun shells wired up to a detonator and fused into a hardhat. The level of planning and makeshift engineering that went into it was astounding, and the dude explained it all in his suicide note. It worked. On one hand I can see how someone who is determined to die but afraid of pain would want to make sure the process was instantaneous and extremely lethal, on the other hand, it's fucked up to think about how much the guy must have dwelt on the idea of killing himself, knowing it wasn't just a spur-of-the-moment opportunity where he shoved a gun in his mouth like most people would have done.

I hope he ruins all of them. Every last one.

You had four whole years of Trump to realize he never jokes around, he doesn't bluff, and he's never going to pivot, change directions, or admit he made a mistake. He means what he says and there is no nuance or subtext.

Fellas, is it gay to go to heaven? I mean, just look at it! You're surrounded by dicks! It's a total sausage-fest up there!

Seriously, there's no standardization to the security theater hoops that the TSA forces you to jump through. Every airport is different, and the TSA guys always look so exasperated that you don't know the routine. I guess that's the point, that on any given day the rules might be different so that potential terrorists will have a harder time finding gaps in security, but it makes it a frustrating experience as a regular non-terrorist passenger.

My next snapped at the sudden shift in decor. It's not like any of those are bad in a vacuum, but it's a pretty bold choice to go from normal midcentury modern to rustic to creepy basement corridor back to modern again and then the egyptian tomb.

I actually really like those bathroom fixtures that look like dragons and serpents. Guilty pleasures.

He is an ideas guy in the worst possible way - he comes up with a half-baked thought and then has a team of people far more talented than him work out the logistics of making it a reality, and takes all the credit for the result. Granted, those people are well compensated for their role, but it's so dumb how laypeople just heap praise onto musk as if he could realistically be the CEO of 5 companies simultaneously and still adequately perform his duties without any kind of delegation or outright negligence.

If you read up on that incident though, so many things had to go wrong for him to have an opportunity to do it while locked up that it's really hard to not consider foul play no matter what the prison or the government says about it.

First they tried "But he was rich!" And that didn't stick, so now they're going back to the old political divisiveness play book with "but he was a right-winger!".

Don't fall for it. The powers that be desperately want public opinion to turn on this guy.

Apparently all you need to do to evade prison is make an earnest run at being President. Let's make a Super PAC and get the ball rolling, we've got a real American patriot to save.
