I'm not talking about religious predictions exclusively, I'm saying that every single "end of the world" prediction so far has been wrong.

I don't doubt that the planet is in a pretty dire state, but resilience is one of humanities strongest traits and short of meteor strike or all out nuclear war, there's a good chance that at least some of us will survive.

I am intrigued by what you think 10th century humans had that could destroy the world though.

I think most people don't understand how this sub is supposed to work. It's very frustrating and I don't envy your job!

To be fair, most Christians aren't "end of the world" doomers. Just the more extreme ones like Jehovah witnesses.

I think overall, this is an unpopular opinion.

People have been predicting the end of the world for thousands of years, they've been wrong every time. This causes me to take further predictions with a pinch of salt.

It equates to about one in five hundred and fifty people, which is less than 0.5% of the population, so I can understand why the government feels content to overlook it.

Unfortunately, protests are largely inneffective until wide spread disruption is caused. If you want the government to take notice people need to feel strongly enough to the point that they're willing to risk prison sentences and most people are far too comfortable to risk that.

I haven't watched the video, but I'm guessing it's about college football.

I take your point, but unfortunately we live in the real world and we have to be realistic.

I'm not arguing whether cars are good or bad for society as a whole.

I'm just saying that if the choice is between internal combustion engines and electric motors, it's a no brainer.

Everyone likes at least some classical music, most people are far too cool to admit it though.

It's a joke. The implication is that the repeated playing of Baby Shark could be considered torture, other cruel, inhumane or degrading treatment and punishment.

Don't let perfect be the enemy of good.
