My ten year old kid said "Bring out your dead!" The last time we walked by one of the bell ringers. Im not sure if I should be proud or not.

A ten year old that even gets that reference is ahead of the curve. That kid is a meme prodigy.

Well... that and she has seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

And... she remembered me doing it last year.

I wish to be enlightened. I'm not privy to this meme

It is a quote from the movie, Monty Python and The Holy Grail. The scene is in a village in the middle ages when everyone was dying of the plague.

Gdq are clowns now and if you say it you're transphobic and don't support LBGTQ rights

One with a better track record of using donations for charity and not spending money on anti gay agendas.

They got Dolly Parton for a football game that's the definition of excess.

I love Dolly, all us Tennesseans do, but come on.

But christmas is the season of giving, and bigots are people too 🥺

Toys for Tots was pretty good last I checked

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago

They changed their stance a quite a while ago. Even their website states they accept everyone including LGBT+

Nowhere, not rich enough to be able to donate when we can barely cover our own expenses

[–] ignotum 3 points 1 year ago

You're prioritizing your own survival over filling the pockets of the salvation army leadership? (They are quite well "compensated" for their "efforts")

And this during christmas, the season of giving?

Have you no compassion?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

I always give my money to local animal shelters + archive.org

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I'm a fan of Toys For Tots as a direct alternative. They don't accept money; you just buy a toy and put it in the donation bin, and they distribute them

"Sure, when you sit through one of my sermons."
