Ask Lemmy
A Fediverse community for open-ended, thought provoking questions
Please don't post about US Politics. If you need to do this, try [email protected]
Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either [email protected] or [email protected].
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email [email protected]. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.

I've seen other people ask for this same thing months ago. I would also like the feature added. As of now you can't do it. Browsing posts with "only subscriptions" will be my preferred way for the time being.
I've had that happen to me while using the site on a mobile browser. I assume it is a bug that will be fixed once the devs are done dealing with higher priority items.
Refreshing the page loads the correct content.
Is there a way to report communities(?) instances(?) not sure what they are called here?
Was browsing through trying to find new communities as I’m brand new to lemmy and found a very questionable instance name. The only thing I found was to go into it and block it but luckily there were no posts on it.
Pretty sure it’s a bot account potentially as they are a mod on a lot of different places.
I think you can block instances on kbin.
Very highly requested feature. For now just block the bot that posts that spam; it's just one or two afaik
I saw in settings today "block bot accounts". I wonder what I'll lose if I select it. I'll leave it for now.
You can also block specific users/bots
True. I've blocked over 40 of those damn sports bots. >:(
Are you on desktop? You can install a script. https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/469297-block-lemmy-instances
I'll give that a shot. Thanks.
