Users and communities can be blocked, but what if I want an entire instance gone?

I see a link I like and get hijacked into seeing sports stats from fanaticus.social.

I have manually blocked every community I have found, I think 45, but since it's run by bots (it says that it is), I know there will be more to come. How do I get rid of this spam?

Also, see my post here. As well as Ruud's recent post here for full details. You shouldn't need to block these accounts anymore (if it is even doing anything currently, I am not sure it is) once we are on 0.18.1. Hopefully tomorrow.

I've seen other people ask for this same thing months ago. I would also like the feature added. As of now you can't do it. Browsing posts with "only subscriptions" will be my preferred way for the time being.

I've had that happen to me while using the site on a mobile browser. I assume it is a bug that will be fixed once the devs are done dealing with higher priority items.

Refreshing the page loads the correct content.

Is there a way to report communities(?) instances(?) not sure what they are called here?

Was browsing through trying to find new communities as I’m brand new to lemmy and found a very questionable instance name. The only thing I found was to go into it and block it but luckily there were no posts on it.

Pretty sure it’s a bot account potentially as they are a mod on a lot of different places.

I think you can block instances on kbin.

Very highly requested feature. For now just block the bot that posts that spam; it's just one or two afaik

I saw in settings today "block bot accounts". I wonder what I'll lose if I select it. I'll leave it for now.

You can also block specific users/bots

True. I've blocked over 40 of those damn sports bots. >:(

I'll give that a shot. Thanks.
