In case anyone wasn't sure what would happen - this basically short circuits your outlet and causes a lot of big sparks to come bursting out of the outlet. Depending on house your house is wired any combination of the outlet, nearby appliances, or everything could suddenly lose power. Learned this lesson when I was 13, just good that I didn't die.

Sane parts of the world has AS/NZS 3112:2000 insulated pins so that this sort of thing isn't an issue.
