I'm actually pretty optimistic about reddit in fedi!
Twitter had specific personalities that needed to move for me to join, but Reddit was just anonymous shitposts.
If the feed updates often enough, this is a perfect drop in replacement. Also, crossposting here from Reddit is an easy way to generate content 🤷♀️

People have bots doing that but it's actually pretty lifeless and doesn't add quality to the site. The organic OC here is high quality, as is the quality of discussion. We don't need Reddit content posted by bots.

BaconReader is down now. This is my first comment on Lemmy after 10 years using that app. Time for something new
I guess reddit really doesn't want my engagement and ad revenue because I don't sit at my computer all day and RIF was my break time fun. I'm not going to stop using reddit right away but it's going to be limited since it's computer access only now and I wonder how much of an impact this change will be and if it will be enough to boot leadership out.
I have a feeling quality will drop on Reddit because the ones most motivated to leave it this round are the ones willing to spend time and effort to find better alternatives and the ones who are staying will be skewed towards people who just accept things as they are, even if it's a shitty as the new Reddit web page or the official app.
12 year reddit user that just came here after RIF went down. Excited to meet you all here! It's my first comment and may there be many, many more.
