Wait they made a Foundation show?

IDK why I'm surprised lol

If you just accept that the book was impossible to make into a TV show it's actually pretty great. Lee Pace is astounding, the story is great, and Bear McCreary did a lot of the music. You may know Bear's beats from Battlestar Galactica.

Ah the real three Bs.

Yeah lee pace fucking slays in it. Honestly best part of the show and worth the ticket price.

Jared Harris is great in it too, although he's kind of under-utilized I think.

I had no idea he was dumbledore son, Richard Harris

I tried to watch it and kinda gave up. I tried to accept that it would be at most a reference to the book, but i still, just, couldnt.

yeah, like others have been saying. it's exciting, even though the actual plot is very different. to me, they kept its soul and even modernized the science.

It's actually pretty good if you leave your book baggage at the door.

They did! I’ve been really enjoying it. S2 finished a few weeks ago. It’s on Apple TV

I loved it, but a bunch of book readers seemed split. Seems like its based on the books but not the plot like it takes a whole different direction.

Honestly one of my favorite shows this year. Every character/actor was switched on the entire time.

Also I learned that Jarid Harris is not Charlie Brooker.

I learned this after confidently telling my wife that he's the guy that made black mirror after I saw him on the screen. She said 'really' and I said less confidently 'I'm not sure'

Yeah, and it’s pretty good.

I’ll argue that Apple TV+ actually has some of the best original content right now. If you like SciFi, it’s worth also looking at For All Man Kind and Silo while you’re in there. Those shows are dope and have a solid budget. (Although Season 1 of For All Man Kind occasionally meh visual effects)

IMHO AppleTV is the new HBO

True truths.

I tried Silo but couldn't get into it. I agree overall about apple tv+ though, even if I don't watch much TV anymore.

The first season is great. The second is great in action but the story lacks logic. We have plottwists only for the viewer to confuse. There was no need to decept the empire about sth. They didn't knew in the first hand.

Yeah, but it's on Apple TV, so...

They did. It's on AppleTV or your local "sailing ship dock".

It's a pretty decent show and I enjoyed it, although if you're a purist about the original books It's not faithful to them in the slightest.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah I started it and made it like 30 minutes in before I bailed because I loved the books. I'm sure it's an entertaining watch in its own right but it's hard to watch when you have expectations for the characters and story.

Let’s put the second foundation under the first one.

Darn it, I am reading and upvoting your post because my reader is down in the middle of the third book and I can't go on! Are you doing it on purpose, PeriodicallyPedantic?
