Dear Infirst Healthcare USA,

Due to an ulcer, under recommendation of my physician, I have been using your product known as Mylanta on a daily basis. At this time, I cannot recommend your product. It is not due to the medical properties of the product itself, of which I have no quarrel, but due to the “fun” flavors you have added to it. I have tried three versions now- original, chamomile and vanilla caramel.

The original was absolutely disgusting.

The chamomile was absolutely disgusting plus chamomile.

The vanilla caramel, despite its claim of a “smooth and creamy taste” was absolutely disgusting plus vanilla and caramel. But it was easier to wash out of the little cup than the others, so it gets that as a plus.

Overall, I see this as a general failure of your product. You know it’s disgusting, I know it’s disgusting, the world knows it’s disgusting. Do not try to hide your disgusting product with flavors. You’re only ruining those flavors.

Let’s all come together as a community and celebrate the fact that your product, necessary as it may be, tastes terrible and nothing will change that.

Thank you for your time,

Flying Squid

I had this problem with colonoscopy prep drinks. I cant stand the fake lemon flavour they put in, the plain salts are not tasty, but they aren't revolting.

For my prep, they made me mix something powdered but OTC that I can't remember offhand in with Gatorade. It had the consistency of mucous. Oh man was that hard to drink 32 ounces of. I'm glad they said I had 2 hours to do it.

There are tablets you can get. Big huge tablets, and you have to swallow 30 of them over a few hours. No flavouring, and it makes a generally unpleasant process a little more tolerable.

Also, if you drink two litres of apple juice, it does the exact same thing as the prep drinks, no idea why they dont just suggest/allow that :D

(This is not medical advice, speak to your doctor)

I could totally handle the apple juice! Stupid prep.

The trick is to get it super cold, just like bad beer tasting better when cold

The protip is to use a straw, get that started as far back on your tongue as possible so you bypass most of your taste buds.

I don't like beer either, so that may not help for me :/ The taste is so bad i have a psycological response to it just thinking of the packets, its transformed beyond a simple taste thing :(

For my first one they gave me salts which were worst thing I tasted, but for my second another doc recomended MoviPrep powder in like 2.5L of water.

It's worlds above the salts for me. Taste is kind of fake frutty (like PEZ) but I'd choose it any day over bittersalt.

I did have a blackberry flavoured prep which was okay, but the lemon one is just revolting.
