I'm confused as to why it is always sports scores.

I wish. It sent me to this post certainly, but the other time this happened it sent me to some Furry Memes post.
Yeah I've been seeing some occasional furry posts from places I'm not subscribed to and I had to block the community to etip seeing them
If I understood right, there's something about streaming with Lemmy that is fucky, and sports are what's getting streamed. v.18 should fix it.
Lemmy does have some jarring bugs like this one
Another one that makes it near unusable is that content jumps when lemmy for some reason updates the feed automatically and on the top
I have to try to click a post faster than the update because it will rerender the whole list and any open images close
This is fixed in BE 0.18. Message your instance admin and ask them to update
Many are waiting for 0.18.1 due to captcha being necessary to control spam and bots
Yeah, I actually just took a look at the GitHub request for that. Looks like the devs will be reviewing the code after the weekend. I bet we get 0.18.1 before the end of the month (when the 3rd party apps die). 0.18 is so good so I cant wait for other instances to pick it up!
There is a slight work around I saw on an another post. Alter the URL to page 0. Default is Page 1. As long as you stay on that page, it won't auto reload.
Hey me too! I mean, I like baseball so sometimes when I hit this bug I end up looking at the box score. But pretty sure the intention of lemmy is not to convert everyone to baseball fandom.
Is Lemmy self aware? Maybe Reddit dying is a ruse to make Skynet a thing you don’t know
Same here, this post specifically. Glad I am not the only one.
Fantastic.
holy shit I thought I was alone, I think it's related to the websocket issues that the 0.17 version has?
Me too... I have seen this thread so many times today.
yeah i just read this post header, carried on scrolling, clicked another, and got sent to a sports post. i wouldn't mind knowing how this bug can manifest itself in such an oddly specific way, but only if it can be done in say, a character limit of 300-500 characters.
Came here to say this as well for me, every other post it seems goes to the random sports posts.
Well it does sound… mildly infuriating.
(Ba dum tssss! 🥁)
I love this
Lemmy.ml is already on version .18, I don't know why lemmy.world isn't yet.
The update doesn't let the site use captchas. They're waiting for .18.1, which will.
Captcha support :( they are waiting for .18.1
It's still on 0.17.4 as of 21:43 Saturday, 24 June 2023 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC)
I really appreciate the precision.
Haha, I get the same thing. Mine are different teams than yours, but always the same game, lol.
Well, at least it won’t get you in trouble at work or otherwise around others.
FUCKING YES. I can't figure it out for the fucking life of me and I've been trying for two days. It's inconsistent and kinda infrequent.
I got it clicking on the link to this very post. Orioles something something. I don't even like baseball, much less fantasy baseball. No fantasy baseball communities in my feed that I've seen.
I am into baseball, and even I'd be disappointed if I got linked to the Orioles.
