Lemmynade has the advantage of being FOSS. Currently testing it out, I like it quite a bit.

Thunder is also FOSS. I was thinking of contributing since it is made with Flutter and I work as a Flutter developer.
I've never contributed before but I feel like this whole Reddit/Lemmy switch is a great opportunity to give back to the FOSS community for all the awesome apps I've used these last few years!
ππHey there, developer of Thunder here. It would be great if you could contribute towards the project! Iβm still very much learning about Flutter/Dart and Iβm sure thereβs a whole bunch of things that could be improved!
Now kiss.
Jerboa and Slide are also FOSS.
I created a community to keep track of apps in development. Here is a list I compiled, it has few more apps I found on github.
List: https://lemmy.world/post/465785
Community [email protected]
I'm working on one as well right now, idk if it will become a serious contender, but if it does should I message you? :)
Yes, if you are working on an app, message me I will put it on the list. Thank you
Will do :)
Just want to give Memmy a shoutout! Those on iOS should highly consider testing the app. It has a lot of features already implemented in it and the team is releasing quality updates daily.
Using the app right now. Love getting daily updates and seeing the thing built in real time.
They plan on submitting to the App Store 6/27. So if you canβt get in the Beta, you donβt have to wait long - pending on how fast Apple can review it.
Also using Memmy, and it is great for such an early product. Works quite well on both iPad and iOS where Iβve been testing it out.
I've been a Sync for Reddit user for probably about 6 years now. I'm hyped for when it releases for Lemmy!
Thanks for compiling this list. Currently testing Limbo and Memmy, and both are looking good.
Has anyone heard anything about BaconReader going Lemmy? I've used that since I discovered Reddit and was hoping I could carry on with it on Lemmy...
I haven't, but I am also a longtime BaconReader reader so hopefully that can be carried over.
The list could maybe be updated. Seems to be that both devs of Limbo and Lemmynade joined forces to create Liftoff!.
And FYI, Liftoff allows users to search for posts and not just communities !
I saw that Sync and Slide were going to be ported. Didn't know about the rest. This is awesome!
Around here, we refer to this as a "yay!".
I'm on Comment. looking good!
Link? Maybe OP will update their list to include it.
But which ones are available without TestFlight for iOS?
wefwef.app is, and feels native on my phone and ipad!
Why so little love for kbin?
Probably in part because there is no API yet. At least I hope that's a big part of it.
Iβm not as savvy with the technicalβ¦ How do you even make an app without API? I thought itβs the thing that connects the stuff?
It's not pretty, but you can simply download the web pages and parse the HTML instead (this is called scraping).
The main downside is that it breaks easily for even smaller changes in the HTML, so if kbin is updated, the apps may need an update to start working fully again.
Do any of them have a functioning compact post view yet?
Memmy's compact view is pretty solid.
Darn, and here's me on Android.
I know Jerboa has it, but I'm looking for an alternative.
Can you get Jerboa to work? It just crashes on my phone
I get the occasional crash but it's generally workable most of the time.
Mlem recently released an update with compact view thatβs been well received. Iβve been using it for about two weeks and have enjoyed it. Note that there has been some hiccups on the developer side, with the main dev departing recently. The handover to other devs will slow down the release pace a little bit.
Nice, thanks for the heads-up.
Which ones best?
Is anyone else having issues with Jerboa for android? It immediately crashes when I launch it.
yup. Just update it :D
It does that some times for me. I think it's just growing pains and how quickly so many people are switching over. I have zero doubt that as time goes on the majority of the issues will be taken care of and things will get smoother.
I was having that issue until i managed to log in. It's been fine after that
I think because the latest version is for lemmy 0.18 and the default instance is on 0.17. That's what i understood anyway.
once Slide migrates to lemmy, I officially have no reason to miss reddit.
This is pretty good!
Iβm using Memmy. Itβs working well. Iβm logged in using lemmy.world, but subscribed to kbin magazines.
