After yesterday's shitshow "review" with management, I had the BEST time today in the office with the other staff - successfully avoided management like they were radioactive - it was like a reunion/party with everyone else. And the best thing is, I caught up with two PT female colleagues and had almost a mini feminist gathering that was like three way therapy - I feel like we ALL had a breakthrough about how to stake our claims, battle our traumas and find our strength and courage against a vindictive/unsupportive/subtly misogynistic boss.

I feel super positive now about where to go from here and that life is gonna get a whole lot better, overall, in the things that really matter. And that there are awesome people who value and care. 😺

I also note how significantly happier and healthier I feel off antidepressants tbh...

The police are doing forensic testing on a dehydrator found at the tip. Wtf so she was making mushroom chips? This story is getting more and more bizarre.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I initially thought it was a tragic dumb mistake, but with the extra info it’s so fishy. Police saying source of mushrooms is still unknown. Which would imply that she’s not saying. How do you have mushrooms in your kitchen and not know where they came from? Then you find random mushrooms in your kitchen and put them in a dehydrator? Somethings not right.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm so traumatised by this. Ok where did the mushrooms come from? No comment.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Ironically, if she has done something murderous, and had said she had picked them and unknowingly made a mistake, she might have made a plausible argument. There would be no proof it wasn’t a mistake. If she’s trying to avoid scrutiny she’s not being very smart about it.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah manslaughter is plausible. I bet my bottom dollar they're now looking into the ex husband's medical records though.

It's really bizarre that they don't know if she ate any of the meal or if there were mushrooms in it. That makes no sense unless she is not answering questions. The only explanation I can come up with that doesn't involve her having done something is that one of their kids is a murderous psychopath she is covering for, but that seems pretty unlikely.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago

Oh they know a lot more that the media don't. The ex husband was hospitalised for some undisclosed mystery illness. This story is gonna be big.

I think we need to get Vera on the case.

Or Columbo.

Miss Marple. Sitting there over afternoon tea. By the time she's finished her brew she's got the answer.

PSA guys. My samples of Double Choc Mousse Cake actually worked which was a surprise because taste.com.au recipes are usually a bit shit.

What I did was placed a chocolate ripple biscuit in each patty pan (6 all up). Made half the mixture but added a tbsp of icing sugar to the cream whist whipping it. The only thing I would add is a dollop of whipped cream on top of the cake

It was delicious. Highly recommend. 5/5 yum yums.

Kidcalhoon1 has a big week this week. Orthodontic expander being fitted this morning, then new Scoliosis Brace fitting tomorrow morning. Poor kid.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Far better than surgery latter in life. Or having to deal with the brace in your late teens like my brother did. Still sucky, of course, but could be far far worse.

For a quick and healthy snack, this little number really shines. Ricotta, apple, walnut, and honey on toast.

I have no motivation to even look for my motivation.

Afternoon full of online meetings is not looking pleasant.

Pray. For. Mojo.

Feeling vulnerable and a mix of boo feelings this morning. A dollop of anxiety, a splash of resentment, a smidge of anger. Why are people so shit???

I don't know guys. It looks a bit like whipped poo but it tastes good. I added a little bit of icing sugar to compensate for the missing liqueur. Let's see if it sets. I'll let you know later.

2023 is the hard work year setting you up for a better 2024. Better to have one year of shit than spread shit across 2 years.

The wind blew the back door open and Miss Meow escaped into the courtyard. She is not a fan of the wind and voluntarily came inside fairly quickly. She's now having a nap to recover from the ordeal.

I'm glad I got into the garden yesterday, the wind is making it not so nice outside, even if the sun is welcome. I made some of the jeruselum artichokes into soup, some for lunch tomorrow and six serves in the freezer. I've still got a couple of kg in the fridge, they definitely give a high return on investment.

Ok so my cake questions might have something to do with this conversation with my husband.

ME: What would you like for your birthday cake?
HIM: A chocolate mousse cake please
ME: Um. Try again. Maybe something that I've made before
HIM: Nah. I have faith in you
ME: through gritted teeth Challenge excepted.

A little bit later
ME: Here's one. It has a little bit of liqueur in there. How about kalua?
HIM: Nah just chocolate. Nothing else
ME: through gritted teeth Challenge excepted

So I have collected my ingredients and will be commencing Operation Chocolate Mousse Cake Sample this afternoon. I shall post the results later.

Man... I wish fantasy games would just... not do spiders. For something that is a very common phobia, fantasy writers just LOVE putting it in their worlds don't they?

At least having an arachnophobia mode would be great. There are some games that have put that mode in. I just, ugh. Can't wait for the mod for Badlur's Gate 3 to be updated to work with the latest patch!

Why do I have to go to work, it's so nice outside. I just want to lay in the sun somewhere nice and read the day away.

This afternoon in the city I saw two women laughing and mocking a young trans.

Trans gal hurried/ran away with tears in their eyes. 😒 Wish I could have told them not to listen, that there are more caring people out there than haters and given a hug . But they were gone so quick and I don't blame them.

Mum got tickets for us to see Paul McCartney! I'm super excited. He's my favourite Beatle. Though I don't imagine he'll play any Beatles songs, so I guess I've gotta learn some Wings songs.

I'm gonna make this Double chocolate mousse cake. Do you reckon I could leave out the liqueur? Because I reckon it wouldn't make a difference in the actual structure.

Maybe I do a test run first.

Accidentally played video games and raced to get ready to go to work, was worried I'd be late but nope on time.

It's my boss that's late. Was kind of hoping I'd get to go back home.

I'd heard that The Righteous Gemstones was a good show but I'd never thought to give it a shot. I thought the megachurch satire would be lost on me, not being from the US where this stuff is rife. I blasted through season 1 and it is great. Very much enjoying it.

They seem to have a running joke of making sure to get at least 1 exposed penis in a shot every episode. So if you're not into that, or if you are, now you know. There's doodles to be found here. Various real dude doodles not just porn star hogs too, which is nice for representation. You don't see that a lot.
