Ok so my cake questions might have something to do with this conversation with my husband.

ME: What would you like for your birthday cake?
HIM: A chocolate mousse cake please
ME: Um. Try again. Maybe something that I've made before
HIM: Nah. I have faith in you
ME: through gritted teeth Challenge excepted.

A little bit later
ME: Here's one. It has a little bit of liqueur in there. How about kalua?
HIM: Nah just chocolate. Nothing else
ME: through gritted teeth Challenge excepted

So I have collected my ingredients and will be commencing Operation Chocolate Mousse Cake Sample this afternoon. I shall post the results later.

Mozart liqueur is highly alcoholic chocolate - maybe use that instead of Kahlua? Wouldn't dilute the OTT chocoholism of the recipie. And vanilla extract (a little bit) will also accentuate the chocolate taste.

Ooo good advice. Thank you.

My challenge to you is not throw the fucking thing at husband if he doesn't work out what a dick he was about said cake and really love it.

Nah he wasn't being a dick. He just really loves chocolate mousse. No choc bits, no nuts, nothing special in it. Just plain chocolate mousse.

Oh good! The mousse looked nice and moussey.

It was really really good.
