Haha wow this is the worst, dumbest statement I've heard in quite a while. Amazing!

[–] [email protected] 65 points 1 year ago (1 children)

"Having legs" was always the most basic tool of bicyclist propaganda. If you have no legs, you can't be fed bicyclist propaganda. The most steadfast anti-biker I knew in my childhood was a corn snake I found in my backyard. Bicycle propaganda did not reach him.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Bicycles are awesome, I'd love to start a cult related to them

[–] Smokeydope 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

c/anticar is right this way sir

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

I'm not anti car, I'm pro cycling

Even tho my fat ass hasn't ridden in years now

[–] [email protected] 35 points 1 year ago (1 children)

TIL communists can't speak

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Right? As if communists have no famous orators, lol.

Lenin proclaims Soviet power in Smolny Palace

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

I mean they don't any more. But Trotsky was amazing at it

Just here to say that I love your username.

[–] [email protected] 26 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Weren't attitudes like this literally why Lenin thought that Communism had to be forced on a society for a few generations for the least educated to "understand" Communism? Since there was no breaking through their preconceived notions? Because there's literally no reaching these people?

[–] sturlabragason 24 points 1 year ago (1 children)

LoL, I thought he was promoting communism. 😅

Did somebody transcribe this drivel for them?

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Good thing propaganda cannot be spread via audio then lol

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Fortunately this mans grandfather never listened to podcasts.

[–] chakan2 8 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Yes...it's a dumb comment...but it's kind of interesting too. Are we seeing the rise of the Right in the US because short form video became popular?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

The us has always been right wing.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

No.

Next question?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Short answer: No.

Long answer: no, but there is some correlation between the average attention span dropping, people enjoying short form videos, and a lack of a mind for nuance which is exploited by right wing propagandists and populists, causing a rise in right wing or even far right authoritarian politicians being elected across the world. I'm not nearly educated enough in the field to make any causation claims though (edit: except the one about propaganda exploiting a lack of nuance which causes those far right politicians to be elected, that one doesn't need a whole lot of expertise to confirm).
Also the US has always been a country of two conservative parties, which could have something to do with more people being susceptible to right wing propaganda

Do you people actually know what a fucking meme is?

This sub is just tankie pictures. FML, shitty reddit client might be worth it.

Seriously, boomer tier tankie bs.

an image, video, piece of text, etc., typically humorous in nature, that is copied and spread rapidly by internet users, often with slight variations.

an element of a culture or system of behavior passed from one individual to another by imitation or other nongenetic means.

[–] t_jpeg 6 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Look, I'm just as communist as the next guy on Lemmy but I don't get how this is funny or an imitable element of culture. This is literally just your opinion.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 year ago

Explaining a joke is always great fun so here we go: This is an obviously borderline braindead statement made by a person who seemingly thinks they would bring up a strong, valid argument.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

No, this is the opinion of Andrzej Kozlowski. And it is funny.

[–] Chadsalot 3 points 1 year ago

I had to reread about 8 times because I was so shook. Thanks for letting me know my eyes work (unfortunately).

[sees image source url]

Ah, so you guys are just using alts to end run around defederation now.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)

This is on lemmy.ml, which is federated with lemmygrad.

Also, not a dude, not everyone on the internet is a guy, especially in communist spaces.
