I'm fucking salty that that ignorant fuck got back in. I guess thats what happens when you call a snap election, give no competing platforms a platform to run on, and send out ~~rebate~~ bribe cheques in the mail, during the coldest time of the year when you have the least amount of people who want to vote, actually vote.

I'm not happy but I'm not salty. It was pretty clearly going to happen. The opposition didn't show up.
Their party platforms on their websites were basically: 'Ford's a big meanie and is forcing us to suddenly pretend like we have ideas for the province'.
Like they literally said, that they didn't have adequate time to prepare and hash everything in their plans out. Theyre the opposition parties. They should always have this prepared. It is their literal jobs to have an alternative concrete plan to the current government's.
Yup. After watching the debate I began predicting another Ford majority and another record-low voter turnout. Glad I was wrong about the latter.
I've always voted NDP, but this was the first time in twenty years of voting that I didn't feel great about it.
Yeah. I feel like the opposition parties not showing up is a serious problem in Canadian politics.
Here in NB, for the past five years, the official opposition Liberals had little to say. The Green Party leader (David Coon) did a great job of criticizing the premier, as basically a one man army.
The federal NDP is basically AWOL. Last time I looked, they didn't post much on YouTube, and they don't get much coverage from media. I'm not sure if that's because media doesn't cover them, or they're bad at publicity.
He's really not though, and neither is Trump. They're the face of their parties, but being the PC leader was just another way for Doug the drug dealer to get elected somewhere else after his brother made such a hot mess of municipal politics. He's a brand. He bends any way the winds of popularity blow him. Probably many of the dyed in the wool conservatives of his party don't like it, but the ones who want a job will hold their nose and go along.
Agreed.
