Just read about this. Complete disaster.
It's just a complete brain fart by the hierarchy, compounded by the fact Arteta is really specific on players that he wants. I get it's crap market but there were strikers out there available on loan that could've been "break glass in case of emergency". Instead we'll have to just muddle through and watch Liverpool win the league in their manager's first season. Granted Slot literally slotted into the role with a fully made squad, but I think our squad is mostly what Mikel wanted right now.
We were even more limited in the loan situation by the fact that we had already used up our domestic loan slots on Neto and Sterling.
Like why the fuck did we even get Neto in?
cuz we couldn't get Garcia and we didn't wanna tie ourselves down, but also wanted Hein to get game time.
The difference between the title is Salah vs Saka's injury or lack thereof. That's all, tbh. But still, this is negligence beyond measure. I hope we get some rando on a free for the rest of the season — we might need it, and better earlier than later.

I always been saying, Everton were always gonna take something from this game. Last ever Merseyside Derby at Goodison. Plus with Liverpool favourites for the league — no fucking shot they wouldn't be up for this.

Something I've been turning over in my head recently:
A lot of corporate entities nowadays seem very intent on projecting the correct image to their customers/shareholders/users/etc. Personally I think this is because they're a little stuck in the past when it comes to marketing and images. Regardless, this has resulted in a lot of industries becoming very closed off. Not necessarily for nefarious reasons, but because they want complete control over their image.
I wonder whether it ever occurs to people like Josh and Stan that for most people, silence is damning? Especially nowadays, where a story will break within minutes. But because they demand total control over the image of the club, they refuse to acknowledge an issue or try to demonstrate that they're trying.
Read: All I wanted was for the club to say "we get that you're frustrated. we're looking." Instead, we hear nothing except the tidbits that Mikel and Declan let slip in interviews.
