An unofficial chapter of the popular Dull Men's Club.

https://dullmensclub.com/

1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of "discuss" rarely comply with this rule.

2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.

3. Avoid repetitive topics.

4. This is not a search engine or advice forum.
Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions, identify objects or get advice. We accept very few questions, and they must be over topics much more difficult than what is easily discoverable with a search. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.

5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.

6. Not hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.

7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Some examples: - starting a post with "So" - starting a post with pointless phrases, like "I hope this is allowed" or “this is my first post” Only share good quality, cropped images. Do not share screenshots of images; share the original image.

8. All polls must have an "Africa, by Toto" option. Why? Because we hear the drums echoing tonight.

I go to the dentist annually, brush twice daily and floss 3 or 4 times a week, but man oh man is this electric toothbrush a whole new world...my teeth feel dentist clean each time. By no means was my mouth poorly taken care of, but it feels in a different world now.

If you can, get one ASAP.

For the record, electric toothbrushes are shown to clean better than manual ones, but there is very little difference between a cheap electric or expensive electric toothbrush. The cheapest Oral B the sell at the supermarket is basically as good as the super expensive one.

Sonicare is life. So much better than the rotating ones.

Thanks for the reminder - I need to replace the head on mine

A water flosser is also really effective, but between mess and lack of counter space, I haven’t been able to get it into a routine

You should look into a water flosser.

I've had them multiple times. Do not like, make a mess, pain to maintain.

I've never made a mess with mine - I have a waterpik which I can use with my mouth closed around it like when I brush my teeth.

But I have a big old cake hole to boot, so YMMV.

I saw a battery operated waterproof one that suggested you could use it in the shower. Seemed better than trying to keep the sink clean

I got one as a gift a long time ago and never opened it. Maybe I should try it... Does it take longer or can you brush quickly with it when you're in a hurry, the way that you can with a basic toothbrush?

The brush is still being controlled by you. It just shakes its head as fast as a rattlesnake. Most have a timer built in, giving vibrations every 30 seconds and longer vibration when it's hit the 2 minute mark. But you can always turn it off whenever you want, whether before of after the 2 minutes.
