What would save the industry is making games actually games, not funnels to manipulate people to forking over their hard-earned money for battle passes and loot boxes. They could also lower their scope, or not rely so heavily on graphics as a selling point. Besides, the industry as a whole is doing just fine. It's AAA studios and their shareholders wanting an ever growing return of investment that need that money. Take Two increasing its pricing just gives an excuse for other AAA studios to price hike, whether justified quality wise or not. For fucks sake, you don't even own the games anymore unless buying from services like GOG or a hard copy that can actually fit on the physical media. I'll just do what I always do and wait for a sale, like many others.

They won't tho. They'll sit there and scratch their heads wondering why the money faucet is off. They'll never consider that all this shit makes games not fun.
If you make it actually worth that much, then yeah go ahead. Almost all these companies that have been pushing for a price hike have been releasing subpar games for the most part. I'd bought Skyrim for $60 when it first came out but I would never pay anything above $30 for Starfield.
The games that I own with the most playtime are overwhelmingly indie games. Stardew Valley, Balatro, Vampire Survivors, Hades, Terraria, Risk of Rain 1 & 2, RimWorld, Factorio... All these games I have hundreds of hours of playtime and I could buy at least 4 of them for $100. Sure I have a lot of time on GTA 5, but it's basically nothing compared to the others. And all those games were made for pennies on the dollar compared to the millions of dollars these companies spend on games.
Make the games worth it and people will pay for it. Stop trying to trick everyone by playing the victim. Stop investing millions of dollars into parts of the game nobody cares about. Stop telling gamers what they want and actually listen to what they want. Stop treating us like we're dumb and don't know what we want. Stop trying to manipulate people into buying whatever you want us to buy. And for fucks sake stop constantly complaining about rising costs when your CEOs make more money then it does to even make the game in the first place.
I'm still not sure the savings from not having to manufacture and produce physical copies has been surpassed by inflation yet.
Someone who knows way more about these types of things would need to do that math.
hell no
If they made a Titanfall 3 that was better than 2 I would pay that much. Otherwise, no.
