Idk if this is really accurate. Regionally for USA makes more sense as nobody says rack where I am.

Guys can you elaborate on the downvotes? Wrong community? Or data?

[–] ladicius 19 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Inaccuracy? I can confidently say that Germans use the word attributed in this pic rather rarely if at all (it's a ridicule).

Wrong data is but beautiful and gets downvoted.

Dunno, where I live, it's used a lot. Of course there are a lot of other words, and I cannot say if "Möpse" is the most commonly used term, but it is at the very least in the top five I'd say.

I enjoyed it, but I've not heard anyone call them "bangers" in the UK.

It's definitely a bit of an old-fashioned one. My vote would have been for "norks".

I assume it is because those are only some of the many names and even if those would really be the most used, it is still only a small fraction overall.

Maybe better suited for [email protected] or [email protected]? I feel this community is more about useful data whereas those are more about fun maps!

Seemingly the choice of words are not very representative for multiple countries.

i didn't downvote but imo it is light on data. having some more info on methodology would help, like where did the data come from? was there any normalization or other processes?

It's hard to know if this is a map of words used most in an area relative to how little it's used elsewhere, or just most common? or just..cherry picking slang that isn't actually commonly used but is from that area?

Why are ”tetas” of Andorra translated ”boobs” rather that ”tits”?

It all seems rather arbitrary.

[–] kaffiene 4 points 1 week ago

As a NZr, no.

[–] whaleross 2 points 1 week ago

"Tuttar" is more appropriate as a commonly used term in Swedish. "Rattar" is used by teen boys and over age dudebros.

Used to work with an Australian woman who described her headlights as on full beam on a cold day in the UK

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

Nobody calls them steering wheels...

‘Honkers’?

Tits.
