Senator Lindsey Graham believes Ukraine’s vast natural resources, particularly its rare earth minerals, could be highly beneficial to the US economy. Speaking to Fox News, the South Carolina Republican emphasized that Ukraine, rich in valuable minerals worth between $2 trillion and $7 trillion, is eager to negotiate deals with Washington, unlike Russia. He described Ukraine as the "breadbasket of the world" and argued that the US should ensure Russia doesn't take control of the country.

Graham further stated that the US could profit from an economic relationship with Ukraine, particularly by extracting these resources, while helping Ukraine achieve peace. He predicted that under President-elect Donald Trump, the US would secure favorable deals for both countries, enriching the US with rare minerals. Graham also claimed that Trump, unlike President Joe Biden, knows how to end wars and will avoid humiliating Russia or triggering further conflict.

Uh, which wars did Trump end? And how was the result of those wars? And how will Trump end the Russo-Ukranian War without humilitating Russia AND also secure trade deals with Ukraine? You literally can't have it both ways.

Trump ended the war in afghanistan, which handed power back over to the Taliban.

Coincidentally, our heroin supply is gone and has since been replaced by Chinese fentanyl.

He also pulled out of Syria, leaving our long-time allies the Kurds to get slaughtered.

And the time he almost started a war with Iran by drone striking their top general?

Didn’t forget about that, but our uniparty pro war government is foaming at the mouth to go to war with Iran.

Trump ended the war in afghanistan,

yeah thats my only memory in that regard, and it was a disaster for the US military and the population of Afghanistan. It reverted to be a shithole. GG Trump.

He purposely made it so the timing was under biden so biden would get blamed for it. He’s a master manipulator.

To be fair, both presidents deserve blame for that cluster fuck. And Obama for not getting out sooner, and bush 2 for getting us into the mess in the first place.

reverted to be a shithole

The only way they aren't better off without the US boot on their necks is the famine caused by the US as a petty act of mass murder out the door. I find it hard to explain your position as anything other than racism. "But it was better for women to be bombed to death than to live under the Taliban!" I'll hear you say. "White people aren't in charge!" is what I hear.

A slow methodical support of a dictator like in Libya and a civil war would not have made it any better. For all his faults the one good thing Trump did was pulling out of Afghanistan.

Trumps big war crimes were in Yemen and Syria.

I remember seeing NYT articles saying the same about the mountains of Afghanistan.

A consensus shaping activity? Lindsey Graham says what he's expected to say

[–] sartalon 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Is this Lindsey Graham, floating an argument to TRUMP, to support Ukraine, or is this Lindsey Graham introducing a narrative pathway for Trump SUPPORTERS to support Ukraine?

Hard to say. The only thing I know for certain is some Russian guy is going to fall out a window this week.

It's always been about resources

Unless Graham wants the west to move to EVs (hint: he does not) then he just wants more weapons and oil sales to Europe. There is no chance of Ukraine taking over regions that have already joined Russia to escape ultra-nationalist apartheid ethnostate. US can get the Ukrainian side resources for cheap, with peace. It will never invest in NovoRussia taken back by Ukraine (as if that could happen) due to inherent instability.

The profits from mining investments are nowhere close to the profits from weapon sales, and the latter is inherently in the bribery institutions.

FYI, this is a troll.
