Mildly Interesting

This is for strictly mildly interesting material. If it's too interesting, it doesn't belong. If it's not interesting, it doesn't belong.

This is obviously an objective criteria, so the mods are always right. Or maybe mildly right? Ahh.. what do we know?

Just post some stuff and don't spam.

They’re all put in a clinical bag back inside your torso, and your chest cavity and your stomach/abdomen, and you’re sutured back up. So your brain’s not in your head.

Not that shocking, when I think about it

Agreed. Also, thanks for your quote, it’s the only sentence in the article that carries significant information.

I don't quite get why the shitrag NYP thinks this is shocking. Okay, some people might be all concerned about their final disposition, but dead is dead. Piss on my corpse, use it for a punching bag and target practice, light me on fire on someone's porch as a sick prank. IDGAF, because dead. Actually, it would be hilarious if someone got to do stupid, funny shit with my corpse. Too bad I wouldn't know about it.

You're not wrong in anything you've said but I still don't like the idea of being directed even if I'm dead. I know that autopsies are legally required in some cases but I've asked my family not to give me one unless it is required.

I'm only surprised they look at the brain as a matter of course.

Most of the potential causes of death are all together in the chest cavity. Opening up the skull and putting it back together seems like a lot of effort if there aren't specific indicators.

I guess they have to be thorough.

If you’re not already an organ donor, now’s the time to become one. Better to have them do some good rather than just rot in a bag.
