This is everything wrong with the Democratic Party in a nutshell.
The correct move: Use the "Anything the President does is an official act" powers to stop a madman who under the 14th Amendment isn't even eligible to be President.
What Democrats do: Kiss his ass as hard as they can even though it's blatantly obvious via the January 6th riots that this would not be happening were the roles reverse.
The Dems are as spineless as the Reps are heartless.

All in the name of an orderly transition during difficult times.
Hindenburg died in August 1934, after which Hitler became President, as well.

Maybe he thought resistance would mean death or torture for him and his loved ones. He's already seen one son die, I doubt he'd want to see another one laid to rest.

No, the US constitution literally has a protection for this exact scenario: the electoral college. The founding fathers knew that the general population was stupid and could fall victim to a tyrant, so the EC was supposed to vote against the popular vote if that happened. They couldn't have forseen the internet, though.
Our government has a responsibility to protect the country and the constitution from those who seek to destroy it, and Trump and gang seek to destroy it. They all should face a military tribunal for sedition and treason, and be hung for it.

I'm struggling so much to understand what kind of logic those people are using. Even when it "works" it doesn't actually work, it's a brief reprieve at best.
The "logic" is just billionaire talking points, because that's who holds the media's purse strings. They'll do anything to keep actual progressives out of power.
There IS no logic. You can't expect logic from things that have been deprogrammed and are currently being reprogrammed, at least not good logic. Bad actors that have control over global information in realtime have taken over. They control the minds now.
