Hi everybody? I live in Norway and I find it really difficult to buy color changing silica gel balls here. I want to use it to keep and control better my filament rolls while they are stored and also to the AMS on my Bambu X1C. The only alternative I found is on Aliexpress, just a 500gr bottle. I was wondering if anybody else out there has any better alternative.

Thank you. I got one of those already but the one I wanted is the colour changing one so I could reuse it. I found it on Amazon and they'll ship it to Norway :). Thank you anyway

China or local reseller of China products. Pricing should be 5-8€/kg for the domestic reseller.

Don't buy blue stuff. Buy orange gel.

Reason: Blue is the old stuff with a Cobalt-based colour indicator (CoCl2). The common indicator for orange gel is also causing cancer but not as bad as CoCl2 (technically it is suspected for the orange stuff. In reality it is just a question of time before they go from suspected/likely to they do).

you can get 3x500g calcium chloride bags from Jula for 100,-, they desiccate 7 times more than silica, but can’t be dried out.

there’s also 1kg bentonite bags, which can be easily dried.

just search up «fuktfjerner» at jula.no

I bought a 2lbs container of it off Amazon.

thank you! I compared prices between Amazon and Aliexpress and it was actually cheaper on Amazon, so I went for 2kg of the orange changing color one (I'll use it also around the house)

I ask around me, to my coworkers and my family if they can keep it when they buu clothes, just in order to be ecologic and don't buy it/throw it.

I do the same with the small bags so I can toss them inside the filament bags when I store them but I need some extra for the AMS to keep the filament dry inside while they're waiting to be used there. Specially the changing color one as it's reusable (buy once, use for years)

Some cat litter fillers are made from silica gel. You can buy it in a pet store.

Yeah, I got one of those, but I was looking for the reusable ones that change color from orange to green. Thank you anyway

I got a bag of the reusable stuff with indicator from Action a few years ago. In typical Action fashion the entire bag was already no longer dry of course. But that was easy to fix by just putting it in an old pan and heating it up until the indicators turned back. I did that in a well ventilated garage though, as I was not too confident in the product. Haven't had to renew it since then!

I believe this stuff absorbs more moisture than silica balls.

Thanks, I'll take a look at it
