I don't have a dog... is it normal to smell your dog's feet? That seems strange to me.

Mine have stepped on my face. Not sure if that counts.

definitely counts

It's not like we're tryna smell their feet. If you have a dog and you're not a heartless monster, have covid nose, or some other smelling disorder, you're gonna smell your dogs feet whether you try to or not.

You know how a person farts and then crop dusts you by walking past? Dogs kinda do that with Frito feet. They walk past you or sit near you and then all of a sudden you smell Fritos. It's for sure a thing. You don't need to smell their feet to pick up the scent.

When you're first exposed to Frito feet for the first time, you end up smelling around until you find the source, but after that no need to get close and sniff. It's not unpleasant, just kinda weird because your brain is legit looking for the open bag of Fritos.

My golden retrievers have always had them.

It really depends on the dog. I've known some who don't and some who do. Essentially it's all dependent on hygiene, pheremones, bacteria, and fungi they pick up. My last dog was very into keeping her paws clean. She didn't get muddy and liked when we wiped her paws down if she was in the rain, so hers didn't smell at all.

I really, really dislike that they used the word aroma when describing the smell.

Ummm... Your spacebar seems to have stroked out at the end of your penultimate sentence.

It does that, phone decides to just fuck up when I type and autocorrects/inserts random periods and shit. Doesn't seem to matter what I try, resize the keys, wipe learned words, change key layout...

No, it's not. I've had three dogs in my life, and been at plenty of houses with dogs. I've never noticed an odd smell that comes from their feet, and I have a horribly sensitive sense of smell.

Well, you already told us you don't have a dog in the very beginning if your comment. No need to repeat it.

Who the hell is smelling dog's feet?

[–] ettyblatant 19 points 1 month ago

With some dogs, anyone in the room is smelling their feet.

Suspicious number of people in this thread making excuses for dog foot smelling

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 month ago

Says the assman...

I was just thinking about how my dog kinda smells like Frito's a while back. I guess it's not just me. 😂

My dogs paws smell a bit like popcorn

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

I call it popcorn paws instead of Fritos, so I get where you’re coming from.

if your dog smells like corn chips, especially in paw, it means there is a build up of yeast bacteria. Could be caused by them being dirty, eating too much processed food, or if your dog licks their paws a lot.

Feed your dogs better food and bathe them more regularly if they frequently smell like corn chips.
