Growing up all airtight containers were referred to as Tupperware but now I think about it I can't remember the last time I saw these in a shop to actually buy. They might want to consider getting their product out there on the shelves.

Were they ever sold in stores? I thought that selling at people's houses was the core concept.

Yes. Sears + Kmart had them and must have been a big source of sales.
