i remember when people whined about hugh jackman before the first x-men came out. and then whined about heath ledger as joker. but if it's not one thing, it's another--comic fanatics will always find something to cry about

I don't think anyone doubts that rdj will slay the role, I think the main criticism is that this is a desperate PR stunt by marvel.

I remember when I thought Heath Ledger as the Joker was going to be bad. Man I have never forgotten how wrong I was.

It's understandable. Him and Mark Hamill both went from being known for lawful good characters, like characters so good they were on the border of being annoying (or even crossed it), to playing one of the characters that best embodies the chaotic evil alignment, plus managed to combine fun with brutality while he did it.

The best actors disappear into their roles to the point where it's hard to see them as someone else. Luke Skywalker wouldn't have been able to pull off a good Joker, neither would the son from the Patriot or knight from Knight's Tale. So, in a way, being skeptical of an actor's ability to play one role because you can only see them as their previous characters is a compliment to their skill.

Just like I couldn't see Hal playing a drug lord, but Bryan Cranston did it perfectly. It was only after seeing Malcolm in the Middle again after BB that I realized how talented of an actor he was the whole time (along with the rest of the MitM cast).

Yeah I'm gonna need someone to explain the joke to me

John Krasinski (left) played Jim on The Office (American) and in one episode, Randall Park (right) pretended to play him for a bit on the show to mess with another character (Dwight). The joke is that they're the same person.

Identity theft is not a joke, Jim!

I don't like Marvel, but I do like The Office so I think I like this.

If anyone was going to be recast to play Doom, it should have been Mads Mikkelsen. But why recast? Just hire Lars Mikkelsen, he already has a relationship with Disney and would be an incredible dr. Doom

I'd still like to see a Trank director cut version of the 2015 fantastic four movie, the first half was great the second half was terrible and probably due to studio meddling if the rumors were true.
