Okay but maybe someone should actually make Gaslight Linux

There is a KDE Plasma theme for it called Reactionary. And there are icon packs to make it look even more like Win 95/98

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Reactionary is really good. I do wish there was an equivalent for GTK4/Libadwaita, though.

I actually use KDE Plasma myself, I just like to keep my desktop themes consistent since there are a bunch of GTK programs I use ^^'

If I didn't already have two serious side projects I would do this

[–] Wogi 5 points 4 months ago

I might switch for that

Nice, my ninth birthday is coming up, hope I'll get Yoshi's Island

[–] [email protected] 17 points 4 months ago

That is very considerate of Windows 95, I could get used to this.

POV: It's not October yet, or is it?

Ok, it's October, fine, I don't care anymore, but it's not Tuesday! It's Monday! Monday!

I think a few games of minesweeper would calm me down better

Windows 95 came out in 1996 though...

[–] [email protected] 14 points 4 months ago (2 children)

It released to retail on the 24th of August 1995, and 29 years and 1 day ago to manufacturing.

Fuck me you're right

I Mandela effected myself. I was entirely convinced that w95 only dropped in early 1996 after getting hammered by delay after delay. No idea where I got that from.

[–] Anticorp 2 points 4 months ago (2 children)

It's July 15th today, so how could it be 29 years and 1 day ago, when it released August 24th? I'm confused by your statement.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

It released on july 14th to manufacturing

[–] Anticorp 2 points 4 months ago

Oh, gotcha. Thanks

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 months ago

Of course they’d have to manufacture it before they release and sell it
