A community for your defence shitposting needs

Rules

1. Be niceDo not make personal attacks against each other, call for violence against anyone, or intentionally antagonize people in the comment sections.

2. Explain incorrect defense articles and takes

If you want to post a non-credible take, it must be from a "credible" source (news article, politician, or military leader) and must have a comment laying out exactly why it's non-credible. Random twitter and YouTube comments belong in the Low Hanging Fruit thread.

3. Content must be relevant

Posts must be about military hardware or international security/defense. This is not the page to fawn over Youtube personalities, simp over political leaders, or discuss other areas of international policy.

4. No racism / hatespeech

No slurs. No advocating for the killing of people or insulting them based on physical, religious, or ideological traits.

5. No politics

We don't care if you're Republican, Democrat, Socialist, Stalinist, Baathist, or some other hot mess. Leave it at the door. This applies to comments as well.

6. No seriousposting

We don't want your uncut war footage, fundraisers, credible news articles, or other such things. The world is already serious enough as it is.

7. No classified material

Classified information is off limits regardless of how "open source" and "easy to find" it is.

8. Source artwork

If you use somebody's art in your post or as your post, the OP must provide a direct link to the art's source in the comment section, or a good reason why this was not possible (such as the artist deleting their account). The source should be a place that the artist themselves uploaded the art. A booru is not a source. A watermark is not a source.

9. No low-effort posts

No egregiously low effort posts. These include Social media screenshots with a title punchline / no punchline, recent (after the start of the Ukraine War) reposts, simple reaction & template memes, and images with the punchline in the title. Put these in weekly Low effort thread instead.

10. Don't get us banned

No brigading or harassing other communities. Do not post memes with a "haha people that I hate diedโ€ฆ haha" punchline or violating the sh.itjust.works rules (below). This includes content illegal in Canada.

Not a terrible idea initially, blend in with farm equipment, excellent off road capability, small and nimble. However there's a reason Geneva conventions require military personnel and equipment to be distinct from civilians.

Do you want all your civilian farmers blown up? Because this is how you do that.

There is nothing saying you can't drive a vehicle. And many militarys literally own Tractors and similar stuff.

[โ€“] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

Tractors are LOOOWD, though. Source= we make a lotta hay for a lil pay

I though the only distinction was for medical vehicles and military vehicles. There is a whole class of vehicles called Technical which is pretty much a pickup with a heavy machine gun mounted to it. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technical_(vehicle)

Ancient John Deere, while they were still good. I highly approve.

Bringing a modern day John Deer to the battle field would result in being stalled while waiting for a proprietary software update, which is suboptimal while under artillery fire.

Ha, exactly what I was thinking about the proprietary software updates for the recent models (2010+?) !

Not sure when it started, plus my personal experience with JD stems from a tractor that was built in the 70's. I think the model was 1033 or thereabouts.

Alright, I want bright green vehicle camo to really contrast the dark green uniforms.

And the guys?

Blackface.

Does anyone remember the Forgotten Hope mod for BF42? A few maps had driveable tractors which were literally slower than the player walking speed.

At least this is an upgrade from those.

Those are some big bolts! I would think dropping nails on the road would be more dangerous than dropping bolts, though, for attacking enemy tires.

(City boy, not even a pleeb, so everyone else knows those are not just big bolts except me)
