I have a feeling they aired that to startle the base into ignoring all of the fuckery surrounding trump and voting for him out of fear. I somehow doubt the numbers are accurate or even from a conducted poll. I may be wrong but I figure if it's on Fox, and it's political, it's probably intentional bullshit.

I may be wrong but I figure if it’s on Fox

Oddly enough, polling is the one area where Fox News isn't a complete shit show. 538 has consistently rated them highly throughout the years. In this case, the poll was run by Beacon Research/Shaw & Co. 538's pollster ratings have them at #15, with a 2.8 rating out of 3.0. While it's proper to be skeptical of anything with the Fox name attached, this is one of those areas where you can accept the poll at face value. That said, it's still June and polls this far out are wildly bad at predicting the final outcome. They are better as a barometer of current sentiment and may help candidates to calibrate their messaging and campaigns as we get closer to the election. Also, a 1-2 point "lead" is almost certainly within the margin of error. So, this poll is really saying "it's a dead heat" and drawing anything more of a conclusion is more of a rorschach test than anything.

I've got a family member who was a LIFETIME Republican, he now shocked everyone by saying he won't be voting for Trump no matter what. And if it looks like Trump could win he would vote for Biden.

I'm sure he isn't alone in these feelings, and Fox want to rile up their voters.

It was hilarious hearing another family member being shocked and arguing why Trump is the only reasonable vote. When my newly never trump family member kept rebuking every argument, they finally said, "well you sure have an answer for everything, don't you?" I'm sitting there just thinking, yea no shit, wonder why that is....

I don't know your circumstances, but if you'd said that out loud you might have had 3 not-Trump votes in your family.

[–] Frozengyro 2 points 6 days ago

I definitely would not have, but it would be nice.

Yeah the answer is trump is a lying crook.

Everything conservatives do is out of fear, greed, or hate.

Reminder that a national popularity poll means jack-shit with the Electoral College. Vote like your democracy depends on it...

Ive read that Fox News polls are actually one of the few things legit from them. It certainly has a right wing slant in who they ask, but they don't falsify numbers. It's generally believed to be reliable.

Unlike everything else on Fox.

if they're saying trump is losing; i'll believe them since he's their guy.

the same polls put him ahead of biden before the convictions and i'm surprised that it worked; i guess the old dictator trick of getting your political opponents convicted of crimes to discredit them still works.

You can only psyop so far. Eventually they don't bother showing up to vote for a loser.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

I hate that we are so jaded to this shit that the thought of them doing this isn't weird.

[–] TexasDrunk 2 points 1 week ago

I bet they even told him the plan and he forgot.

[–] [email protected] 40 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh man I hope he strokes the fuck out

[–] [email protected] 29 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Can you imagine if he just dropped dead on stage. It would make my week

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Please no. I want him to lose with a massive gap, like 40% Trump, 50% Biden, 10% RFK/random third parties. I want him disgraced...

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I don't think its possible for him to be disgraced among his cult

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

That's fine. If he loses this round, I doubt he'll run again, and if he does, the RNC is unlikely to support him again. I want him to lose so it's clear that his ideas are not wanted.

I am slightly terrified of that.

They would be unchained. Like, already shitty following the douchenozzle(in my opinion), but that might make them go rabid, and the potential of a (worse) monster becoming the head.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 days ago

Thats going to happen even if he dies peacefully in his sleep. No matter how he dies, they will go rabid. Thats what cults do.

It's astonishing how Trump and many other conservatives are so prone to claiming that anything that goes wrong in any way is some sort of conspiracy against them. Shit never goes sideways due to anything they did, there's always someone else at fault.

Not that I necessarily believe that Fox poll is accurate, exactly for the reason @[email protected] points out in their comment – just as likely to be bullshit meant to scare conservatives into voting for him.

Trump, being the man-baby that he is, melts down over everything. This shouldn't be surprising...

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Good. The more unhinged he appears, the better

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

To who though? His base loves that he does this.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

To everyone with a brain as opposed to the redhat redneck rejects called Maggats

I saw that that poll and I was really looking forward to this headline :)
