What was the last good movie you watched? Why did you like it?
Yes but it is kinda hard to make friend in a place like Lemmy as we just talk under a post and leave . That's why I made a post like this .
Last one was Sicario 2 and it was kind of a let down from 1 . Tho there are some redeeming qualities I wouldn't watch it again or something as it was not at all like sicario imo .
That's the thing about social media, it's not actually social. All we do here is entertain eachother a bit by posting stuff, but we will never get to know eachother.
You need real life friends or it all feels very empty. People spend like 10 hours on YouTube watching people they think are great but they will never see who that person actually is.
I do have friends its just that moving around has made me loose so many people coupled with the fact that I don't that I don't have Instagram or Snapchat .
I haven't seen Sicario 2, i enjoyed 1. Would you recommend it, even if its different from 1?
I do enjoy a good action thriller!
Hmm its not bad per se but it doesn't have the ruthlessness that sicario 1 had which made it stand out to me . But sure if your just looking for a standard action flick it is one of the better ones .
speaking standard action flicks, have you seen Gunpowder Milkshake?
No . That brings backs a memory of me putting it in watchlist and deleting it because the reviews were mid and I had so much I end shit to watch .
But now I may give it another try .
i like most movies at some level, even the bad ones. theyre all gradients of art to me..
I appreciated that particular movie because it was lightweight, campy action flick that hit the right notes. i wasnt expecting a lot, but it was entertaining. also, who doesnt have a thing for karen gillian?
Yeah I too sometimes like to watch those kind recent one I remember is boy kills world .
any hobbies?
Cycling, working out, reading (haven't read much but I do a little and I do enjoy it ).
You need to find a new hobby my friend!
Find a local group for an interest you've wanted to try but never done. Go meet new people and learn new things!
Why ? I kinda like my current hobbies I try shit from time to time but these are the ones I can enjoy and if I can't enjoy something but just do it to just say I do that, isn't that working without pay ?
you ever roller skate? quads.. none of that inline bullshit
Roller skate ? No . whats quads ?
skates with wheels in a 2 front 2 back fashion... old school
not enough people roller skate anymore
Pic ? Doesn't all skate boards have to wheels on the front and two on the back or has that changed without me even noticing ?
not skateboooarding... like this:
Oh those I have no idea .
You want me to DM? Ok hergoes:
You enter a dimly lit cavern and come across a mysterious hooded figure. Without warning he throws back his hood and draws a massive curved sword. Roll for initiative.
Ask for the price and why their so dramatic . I'll buy the sword alright no need for an intro .
Ask an open ended question about something and stick around in the responses. You don't have to ask and leave, and some people might stick around for a while. All you say here is not just movies and TV, but what do you actually want to talk about? Technology, art, puzzles, gaming, entertainment...
Idk I'd talk about anything I said movie and TV cause that's the things I use most my spare time on .
Another reply as a public conversation starter: I find that most modern movies are too formulaic and predictable. What are your suggestions for movies that really aren't?
Nihil sub sole novum
It helps me to focus on the things a movie does right, even if other parts are lackluster. For example the Star Wars sequels were abysmal in terms of dialogue and plot development, but the music and choreography was amazing.
Modern ones ? Probably some A24 ones but they are just so and so and not something I would recommend as must watch or anything but they do tend to get not formulaic . Unpredictable ? I would need some time to think lol.
Saint Maud and Lamb were...interesting. Saint Maud I could actually watch again. Also, The Witch is in my top 10.
Oh yeah The Witch was good I Haven't watched the other two you mentioned .
~~I might. Creeping through your comment history doesn't reveal any red flags, so here's the next test:
What's your most controversial opinion?~~
Derp, it's you. We're already in the same matrix chat, lol.
How about we start that public CasualConversation chat I suggested a while back? I was going to take the initiative on that one, but then I... uh.. didn't.
I'm not on matrix.....
Do I have an imposter lol ?
Nah, but I get names confused easily. I was probably thinking of one of the mods.
No prob
What's the last book you read? What's a book you think everyone should read?
Dracula by bram stoker, haven't finished it yet . Idk I'm not that much of a book reader to have one of those .
Do you like gaming? Video games, board games, or TTRPGs?
No I sometimes pull up random games from websites in my phone if I'm utterly bored and have NOTHING to do even then I stop fast and hates playing .
Have you got your fill of DMs yet?
Speaking of making a lasting connection, lately I've been thinking about taking up pen pal-ing (I guess we just call that letter writing) again. But I just really like stationary and reading and writing off of paper
Have you seen Furiosa yet?
No sadly . Have you ? Was it good ?
It was a blast, I enjoyed the nonverbal storytelling in Fury Road, and Furiosa leaned into it even more
