is just a Band-Aid. The root cause of people's misery is that society is built around capitalism and not human wellness. So they tell us all to breathe and meditate in order to cope in our fucked up society that is driven by capitalism and we are the capitalist slaves. How about we put human wellness at the forefront of society's priorities instead of money? we'd all be a lot less stressed out. mindfulness and breathing comes naturally when you're not a corporate slave.

Mindfulness and breathing exercises, relaxation exercises and such, are only tools, and insufficient on their own in terms of managing mental health and wellness.

On the other hand, you could limit the overall effectiveness of comprehensive treatment by not being mindful, and by not managing physiological stress through relaxation techniques.

If the tools are thrown out there by your company's HR, when the actual problem is poor working conditions (chronic understaffing for example), a cynical view is reasonable. Their purpose is to cost effectively minimize turnover.

Nothing is going to change at the societal level so breathing exercises is all we've got.

Yup. Breathe deeply & mindfully while we work ourselves to death so shareholders can do yoga on their yachts.

We need some brave souls to start murdering billionaires. Then tell them all they need to start giving away their riches or die. It’s that simple. That’s THE ONLY measure that will change things.

Healthcare knows that what you're asking for isn't going to happen. Probably even get worse in the near future. Believe me, we really do know how fucked the system is.

We still aren't close, in the U.S., to having universal free healthcare.

Like many, many things that are good for people, eg: exercise, quality food... It's very difficult to get people to buy into the idea of simple things to try and help with stress/anxiety. No amount of counseling or prodding from professionals are going to get you to accept to do things that might be helpful. Until you decide to make it happen. Self motivation is absolutely necessary.

There’s nothing conspiracy theory about this. This is common sense and 100% accurate. And it’s not exactly capitalism to blame, but unrestrained capitalism. It’s a fairly good system but needs limits, which it doesn’t currently have.

As Churchill said, “Capitalism is the worst system, except for all the others.” - paraphrasing.
